PORTO SANT’ELPIDIO – Una tappa conclusa con la fuga che in molti si aspettavano e che registra ancora un’ottimo stato di forma del leader Farnese Vini Selle Italia Filippo Pozzato (7° all’arrivo), ma che lascia l’amaro in bocca al team guidato da Luca Scinto per l’occasione persa:
“Avevamo Balloni in fuga, l’uomo che doveva difendere la maglia blu e darci la possibilità di non tirare. Ma ha bucato quando il vantaggio era intorno al minuto e senza il cambio ruote al seguito non ha potuto sostituire la ruota. A quel punto abbiamo perso l’occasione di non tirare, e infatti a metà corsa abbiamo limato il vantaggio, insieme alla Liquigas che ha dimostrato grande valore tecnico. Ma in tanti potevano aiutarci a chiudere, in una tappa così dura e impegnativa, per giocarci questa bella occasione. Non siamo l’unica squadra senza uomini di classifica e l’occasione di oggi è un traguardo perso sia per noi che per gli altri”.
Giornata dal grande sole ma che si è chiusa quindi con un piazzamento dal sapore insipido:
“Io comunque sto bene, oggi c’ero e cercherò la mia vittoria già da domani” ha chiosato Filippo Pozzato dopo l’arrivo. Domani quindi va in scena la Recanati – Rocca di Cambio, 204 km: una tappa ancora da cacciatori.

POZZATO SEVENTH IN THE STAGE OF CHAVEZ AND MALORI
Filippo Pozzato arrived seventh in the day of Chavez (Winner of the stage) and Malori (New Pink Jersey). Scinto: “We tried to win, but we were alone”.
PORTO SANT’ELPIDIO – A stage that is concluded with an escape like the prevision of the morning. A stage with Filippo Pozzato seventh but without the satisfaction of the result, since he lost the possibility of success:
“We had Balloni in escape – Luca Scinto explained after the finish line – but he punctured his tire and without the assistance he can’t remain in the first group. Then we have to follow the fugitives, but we were alone, only with Liquigas who demonstrated a high technical level.
