Avevo intenzione di parlare di tutt’altro, ma… sarà il Natale che si avvicina, sono rimasta troppo intenerita dalla storia di Ben e Olivia per non poterne parlare.

I have in mind to talk about something else, but … Christmas is coming up, I was too much softened by the story of Ben and Olivia for not speaking about them.

Ben Nunery ha sposato Ali nel 2009 e sua cognata, che è una fotografa, ha fatto il servizio di nozze. Nel 2011 purtroppo Ali è morta di cancro, lasciando Ben e la piccola Olivia, che aveva solo 1 anno.
Ora Ben e Olivia devono trasferirsi, ma prima di lasciare la casa, hanno deciso di riprodurre il servizio fotografico, sempre con la cognata di Ben, in omaggio e in ricordo della moglie/mamma, di quella casa, di quella… vita.

Ben Nunery had married Ali in 2009 and her sister, a photographer, did the wedding service. Sadly, in 2011, Ali died of cancer, leaving Ben and the little Olivia, who had only 1 year.
Now Ben and Olivia have to move, but before leaving the house, they decided to reproduce the photo shoot, always with the sister in law of Ben, in honor and in memory of the wife/mother, that home, that … life.

Normalmente trovo questi progetti più legati al marketing che alla fotografia, stucchevoli, mielosi… Nel migliore dei casi non esprimono ciò che il titolo promette, nel peggiore non esprimono proprio niente.
Ma qui è diverso, i dittici e la casa così riconoscibile e soprattutto il viso di questa principessina mi hanno fatto proprio sciogliere… Che dire? Buon cammino!

Normally I find these projects more related to marketing that photography, fulsome, syrupy … In the best cases they don’t express what the title promises, in the worst don’t express anything.
But here it is different, the diptychs and the house so recognizable and especially the face of this princess just made me melt… What can I say? Happy journey!
