Frey Wille: gioielli e accessori fra arte e storia

Che cosa sapete di Frey Wille? Sicuramente conoscete questo brand per i raffinati e coloratissimi gioielli in oro e smalto a fuoco,  e sapete che la casa madre è stata fondata a Vienna. Ma quello che non sapete è che c’è molto più di questo! Frey Wille è un luxury brand che produce vere e proprie piccole opere d’arte indossabili e il suo leitmotiv è “arte e gioielo”. Il valore è da ricercare proprio nell’emozionalità di questo concetto.
Innanzitutto, i prodotti sono quasi completamente Made in Italy, a parte la manifattura delle parti in smalto, che ancora si svolge in un laboratorio viennese. Anche i materiali sono italiani: non solamente l’oro, ma anche i pellami e le sete degli accessori.

What do you know about Frey Wille? You surely know about their precious fire enamel jewellery and that the brand was founded in Vienna. But there is so much more that must be told! Frey Wille is  a luxury brand that creates artistic precious fire enamel jewelry with the leitmotif “art and jewelry “. Their products’  value lies in the artistic creation, as well as in the material used. It’s a very emotional  product.
The products are nearly completely made in Italy, apart from the manufacturing of the enamel parts, that is still handcrafted in Vienna. The materials are from Italy, too: non only their gold, but the leathers and the  silks of the accessories.

Parlando con molti di voi mi è capitato di sentire delle perplessità sul prezzo. La ragione dei prezzi da prodotto di lusso sono spiegate dal fatto che… sono oggetti di lusso. E le ragioni stanno non solo nelle materie prime (esclusivamente oro italiano 18 e 24 karati  e oro bianco), nell’alto livello di expertise del team che realizza gli smalti, ma soprattutto nel fatto che in ogni singolo pezzo trovi una storia e una cultura, la ricerca di artisti che ispirano costantemente questo mondo. A proposito, ecco un po’ di storia. Il brand fu fondato a Vienna nel 1951 da Michaela Frey, che creava decorazioni e oggetti con decorazioni in smalti che riproducevano il  design tipico del folklore austriaco. Successivamente ha aggiunto bracciali e da anelli alla produzione, negli anni 50 e 60. Friedrich Wille si è unito alla compagnia come legale e successivamente è divenuto partner. Dopo la morte di Michaela Frey, Wille ha acquistato la compagnia ed ha provveduto a diffondere lo spirito Frey Wille in tutto il mondo, benché l’Europa sia ancora il cuore dei suoi  ideali filosofici ed umanistici.
Ultimamente il brand ha aggiunto la produzione di orologi, sciarpe, borse, cinture, gemelli, penne.

Some history now. This  brand was founded in 1951 by Michaela Frey, whose activity was the handcrafting gift items by painting on fire enamel, using Austrian folkloric designs. Later, she started enamel bangles and rings with in the’50s and ’60s. Friedrich Wille joined the company as a chartered accountant and later became a partner. After the death of Michaela Frey, Wille bought the company and started spreading  its spirit all over the world, whilst Europe is still remaining the core of their humanistic and philosophical ideas. Beside jewellery and watches, the company has now also expanded into accessories such as gold watches, scarfs, handbags, belts, ties, cuff links and fine pens.

Nell’altra vetrina una parte della nuova collezione dedicate al mondo russo, Passionate Russia, formata da quattro set: Golden Kalinka, My Matrioska, Glorious Firebird e  Swan Lake, che è anche la mia preferita. Proprio per questo ve ne parlo più in dettaglio: amo l’accostamento dei colori, violetto, crema e oro, il dinamismo della danza, il richiamo alla leggerezza dei movimenti, il romanticismo del balletto…  In oro 24kt con aggiunta di effetti perlati, si armonizza con molti stili di abbigliamento, e i suoi i colori sono molto discreti. Qui invece potete vedere My Matrioska.

In the other window, the new collection dedicated to the world of Russia, Passionate Russia. It is formed by the sets Golden Kalinka, My Matrioska, Glorious Firebird and Swan Lake (my favourite one!). Swan Lake set’s colors are violet, cream and gold, it reminds us about the ballet agility, grace and romance. It can be mixed with many different clothing styles, because of the colors, that are so delicate and subdued. In these pics you can see My Matrioska collection.

Spirit of Africa è una collezione con due set: Safari, quella con l’animalier e i toni earthly, naturali; l’altra è Kilimangiaro più grafica e tribale. Safari è la seconda nel mio cuore dopo Swan Lake!

Floral Simphony è una collezione dedicata a Pepita de Oliva, ballerina di flamenco spagnola (1830-1871). Il  classico pattern pied de poule  è assolutamente di tendenza.

Pepita Rose c’è anche nella versione Pastel: nell’abbigliamento, si abbina allo stile candy style ma io suggerirei un abbinamento soprattutto col nude, per spezzare il monocolore.  Ha una combinazione di diversi tipi di oro da più a meno lucido che nelle stoffe richiama soprattutto seta e velluto.

Pepita Rose can be found in a Pastel version: you can wear it with  candy style look, but I do think it would be great with nude colors, just to add some shiny details. It is made in a combination of different kinds of gold that remind us f the features of silks and velvet.
