Alla base di ogni canzone ci sono sempre arpeggi o carezze minimali su una chitarra acustica, ma il suono viene arricchito da echi ambientali e, soprattutto, da armonie vocali che evidenziano l'influenza che Simon & Garfunkel hanno avuto sul cantautore inglese.Fog round the figurehead e I turn my face to the forest floor mettono in risalto una grande sensibilità nella scrittura dei testi, criptici ed evocativi. Quest'album viene seguito l'anno successivo dal bellissimo EP Black holes in the sand, ultima opera folk di Talbot prima della svolta elettrica.(ENG) Nick Talbot goes very well on the road traveled with Internal travels, characterized by agaunt and withdrawn folk.
