George Alexander Louis, also known as the Royal Baby, has finally popped out. Congrats to Will and Kate, Uncle Harry, Grandpa Charles and Great-grandma Betty.

Should I congratulate Kate first Considering that she’s the one who carried the baby for nine months and experienced the pain of childbirth, even if, she won’t inherit the throne?

I’ve wondering, as you do: what if – one day – everyone from the Royal Family of the United Kingdom dies somehow? It’s unlikely this will ever happen, as God will (always) save the Queen (and the King).

But in such a case, could I become King? Or better: could I become the next Queen of the United Kingdom? Who could become King (or possibly the Queen, but I don’t want to spoil anything) of the UK and Commonwealth? Anyone? Only certain people? Who?

It’s comforting knowing that I’m not alone pondering this: somewhere (to be fair here, in London) someone has thought about that before me and created a very amusing video which perfectly explains the UK’s Royal line of descendants. Enjoy!

George Alexander Louis, noto alle cronache ormai come il Royal Baby, è finalmente nato.
E allora tanti auguri a William e Kate (o meglio, dovrei fare prima gli auguri alla mamma, anche se non è l’erede al trono d’Inghilterra ufficiale, visto che si è portata in grembo per 9 mesi il bambino, con bonus ore di travaglio e dolori del parto), allo zio Henry, a nonno Carlo e bisnonna Betty.

Ma cosa succederebbe se in qualche modo tutta la famiglia reale schiattasse d’improvviso? E vabbè che non succederà, visto che l’inno inglese dice “God save the Queen etc”, ma metti che succede?

Potrei diventare la nuova regina del Regno Unito? Chi può diventare re (o regina, non anticipo nulla): noi persone senza sangue blu abbiamo qualche possibilità?

Mi fa sentire molto meno sola sapere che ci sono persone come me che si sono poste la stessa domanda, e l’hanno fatto molto prima di me. Sono quei matti di CGP Grey, che hanno anche un blog e un canale Youtube che dovete assolutamente seguire.

Qui sopra, nella parte in inglese, trovare il divertente video creato da loro dove spiegano nel dettaglio chi, come cosa e perché qualcuno può ambire alla corona reale del Regno Unito. Il video è in inglese, e a volte al narratore gli prende di parlare velocissimo, ma ci sono i sottotitoli, anch’essi in Inglese. Purtroppo nessuna anima pia ancora li ha messi in italiano.
