Hull City Supporters’ Trust, il KC Stadium registrato come Asset of Community Value

L' Hull City Supporters’ Trust ha comunicato(qui in inglese) che la domanda(qui LINK) presentata presentata all'amministrazione locale è stata accolta e il KC Stadiumsarà registrato come Asset of Community Value(ACV, Bene di rilevanza per la comunità).
L'impanto rientrerà così nel Localism Act del 2011, e in particolare nella Community Right to Bid(diritto di offerta della comunità). Tale regola consente la priorità del richiedente, in questo caso l' Hull City Supporters’ Trust, per presentare un'offerta d'acquisto per l'impianto nel caso fosse messo in vendita nel futuro.
La registrazione si aggiunge così alla crescente lista che vede tra gli altri l'Old Trafford(qui dettagli), registrato dal Manchester United Supporters' Trust(MUST), l'Anfield(qui dettagli), grazie alla richiesta del collettivo di tifosi del Liverpool FC Spirit of Shankly(SOS), lo stadio Ewood Park(qui dettagli) con la domanda presentata dal The Rovers Trust, associazione di tifosi del Blackburn Rovers, e il St. James Park grazie al Newcastle United Supporters' Trust(NUST)(qui dettagli).
Mark Gretton, the Interim Chair of the Supporters’ Trust, welcomed Hull City Council’s decision. He said:
“Listing the stadium as an Asset of Community Value is of huge symbolic importance. In any discussion over the stadium’s future, the ACV listing serves as a timely reminder that the fans – as much as, if not more than, the owners and leaseholders – have a vested interest in the KC.
“The Trust believes that supporters should have a key role to play in the KC Stadium, an asset that was explicitly developed for the benefit of the local community but currently has no discernible community engagement in its management or operation. The stadium’s listing as an ACV supports the original vision.
”We’d like to thank Hull City Council for approving the nomination and Jacqui Forster from Supporters’ Direct for her guidance in preparing our application.”
