I gradi di separazione tra le pagine Web: 19 link

Quella dei 6 gradi di separazione è un'ipotesi fatta dallo scrittore ungherese Karinthy negli anni '30, ed è la teoria secondo cui ogni persona sulla Terra può essere collegata ad un' altra attraverso una catena di conoscenze dirette con non più di 6 intermediari. 
Semplificando ad esempio, potrei arrivare a conoscere Obama partendo dalla mia rete di conoscenze e arrivando a lui attraverso non più di 6 persone intermediarie.
Ebbene, questa stessa teoria del "quanto è piccolo il mondo", è stata applicata al web da un altro ricercatore ungherese, Barabási. Il risultato questa volta è stato un pò più alto: ovvero i gradi di separazione tra due pagine web sono 19, e sarebbe più corretto chiamarli link.Questo vuol dire che, partendo da una qualsiasi pagina web, in 19 click sarebbe possibile arrivare, collegamento dopo collegamento (motori di ricerca, aggregatori, etc.), in un'altra pagina web presente nella rete. 
Volendo specificare, spesso ogni elemento è collegato al web anche attraverso un solo link, (se parliamo di settori vicini), mentre invece sono proprio i motori di ricerca o gli aggregatori di contenuti che ci permettono di fare passi più lunghi ed arrivare a settori della rete apparentemente scollegati tra loro...il tutto in 19 passaggi. Se consideriamo che attualmente in rete ci sono oltre 14 miliardi di pagine e la popolazione terrestre si aggira attorno ai 7 miliardi di persone, la proporzione è presto fatta.
Se poi parliamo di Social Network, secondo me la teoria sarebbe ampiamente sotto i 5 gradi, basti pensare a tutti i messaggi con cui Facebook ci propone "persone che potremmo conoscere" (e che in realtà ci sono sconosciute), solo perchè amiche di qualche nostro amico...
Cosa significa questo?In maniera molto semplice, l'update della teoria dei 6 gradi, ci mostra quanto la rete internet tenda ad aggregarsi in comunità, esattamente come fanno le persone. Ovviamente la rete ha una storia molto recente se paragonata a quella dell'umanità, ma è curioso osservare come il suo sviluppo stia seguendo lo stesso percorso degli esseri umani._______________________________________________________________________________
The 6 degrees of separation theory, is an idea of an Hungarian writer, Karinthy, during the '30s. It's the theory that everyone is six or fewer steps away from any other person in the world, so that a chain of "a friend of a friend" could connect any two people in of six steps at most. For example in this way I could potentially know Obama through six persons.
This theory of "how small is the world" has been applied to web pages by another Hungarian researcher, Barabási. The result this time was a little higher: the degrees of separation between any two web pages are 19, and it would be more correct to call them links. This means that, starting from any web page, it would be possible reach, through 19 clicks and connection after connection (search engines, aggregators, etc..), another web page on the network.
Often each element is connected to the web through a single link, (if we talk about related areas), whereas search engines and content aggregators could allow us to take longer steps and get to the areas of network supposedly unrelated to each other ... all in 19 steps. If we consider that currently there are over 14 billion web pages and the earth's population is around 7 billion people, the proportion is quickly made.
If we think of Social Network, probably the theory would be well below 5 degrees, just think of all Facebook messages that often try to invite me with "people we know" (and in fact are unknown to us), just because of a few friends our friend ...
What does it mean?
In a very simple way, the update of six degrees theory, shows how Internet tends to aggregate in community, just like people do. Obviously, the network has a very recent history compared to humanity, but it is curious to observe how its development is following the same path of human beings.
