La Triennale di Milano presenta la mostra “It’s not only Rock’n'Roll, Baby!” a cura di Jérome Sans alla Triennale Bovisa fino al 26 settembre. Una collettiva con opere di 12 artisti, icone sulla scena rock-pop: Alan Vega, Andy dei Bluvertigo, Antony (Antony and the Johnsons), Bianca Casady (CocoRosie), Chicks on Speed, Devendra Banhart, Fischer Spooner, Patti Smith, Peter Doherty (con la sua opera disegnata col sangue), The Kills, Herman Dune.Il progetto è stato concepito dal più “rock’n’roll” di tutti i curatori, Jérôme Sans, fondatore ed ex-direttore del Palais de Tokyo di Parigi, oggi direttore del Centro Ullens per l’Arte Contemporanea di Pechino. Il suo interesse per gli artisti che esplorano le più diverse discipline culturali, lo ha portato negli ultimi quindici anni a presentare gli aspetti meno noti di alcuni dei più famosi artisti. La musica ha sempre fatto parte del suo mondo e del suo lavoro, infatti, insieme alla cantante Audrey Mascina, ha formato il duo di elettro-rock “Liquid Architecture”.L’obiettivo che la mostra si pone è quello di esporre le opere di quei musicisti che sono nati artisti prima di darsi al rock; presenta un aspetto centrale della loro attività artistica, seppur sconosciuta rispetto ai loro successi musicali. I musicisti scelti ci dimostrano che le due forme di espressione – il rock e l’arte – sono inestricabilmente legate tra loro. Tutti gli artisti presentano un proprio specifico linguaggio formale. Ci sono, tra gli altri, i dipinti fatti col sangue di Pete Doherty, le polaroid intime in bianco e nero di Patti Smith, i collage di Antony.La mostra sarà accompagnata da una rassegna cinematografica curata da Nick Magazine e da alcuni appuntamenti musicali tra cui giovedì 15 luglio (ore 21) con Max Zanotti domenica 12 settembre (ore 21) con Patti Smith.

A joint exhibition with works by 12 artists, pop-rock icons on stage: Alan Vega, Andy Beatles, Antony (Antony and the Johnsons), Bianca Casady (CocoRosie) Chicks on Speed, Devendra Banhart, Fischer Spooner, Patti Smith, Peter Doherty (with his work with blood drawn), The Kills, Herman Dune.Il project was conceived by the more “rock’n'roll” of all the editors, Jérôme Sans, founder and former director of Palais de Tokyo in Paris now director of Ullens Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. His interest in the artists that explore the diverse cultural disciplines, brought him in fifteen years for the lesser-known aspects of some of the most famous artists. Music has always been part of her world and his work, in fact, with the singer Audrey Mascini, formed the electro-rock duo “Liquid Architecture.” The objective of the exhibition stands is to expose the works of those musicians who are artists born before turning to rock, has a central aspect of their artistic activity, albeit unknown in relation to their musical success.
