Italo Treno - my first experience

Eccoci reduci da una notte di festa, qui in Italia non si può non parlare di Europei di Calcio. Ma noi cerchiamo di unire le due cose e vi parlerò del mio primo (e sicuramente non ultimo) viaggio su Italo Treno - la nuova compagnia italiana di treni ad alta velocità. Cosa c'entra con gli Euro2012? C'entra, c'entra....

Vi avevo già comunicato cosa pensavo dei treni italiani e quindi non potevo non riporre la mia fiducia nei nuovi treni Italo. E devo dire che, nel complesso, non sono stata delusa. Però vorrei partire subito dalle pecche:
Il WiFi. Non ha funzionato nè all'andata nè al ritorno, per problemi di stabilizzazione del segnale a cui la ditta sta già provvedendo, ma, di fatto, si tratta di un servizio su cui si è fatto leva e che non è ancora attivo.

I had already communicated what is my opinion about Italian trains and then I could just to put my trust in the new Italo company. And I must say that, overall, I was not disappointed. But I want to start immediately from flaws:
The WiFi. It did not work either on the outward or return, due to problems of stabilization of the signal to which the company has arranged, but, in fact, it is a guaranteed service that is not active yet.

Detto questo, nulla da ridire. Primo vantaggio: il prezzo. Milano Porta Garibaldi - Firenze Santa Maria Novella (entrambe le stazioni sono nel pieno centro della città) 36€ con la classe economy , siccome la classe low cost (da soli 20€ !) era esaurita. Trenitalia offriva solo un frecciarossa da 50€ o un interciti da 28€ che impiega più di 3 ore ad arrivare a destinazione.
Quindi, la carta del risparmio è decisamente vincente e certamente stimolante una sana concorrenza.

Other than that, flawless. First advantage: price. Milan Porta Garibaldi - Florence Santa Maria Novella (both stations are in the heart of the city) 36 € with the economy class because the class low cost (for only 20 €!) was exhausted. Trenitalia Frecciarossa offered trains only for 50 € and Trenitalia Intercity of 28 € which employs more than 3 hours to get there.
Then the savings is definitely a winner and it always stimulated healthy competition.

Inoltre gli ambienti che ho trovato erano maniacalmente puliti e in ordine - il che fa sempre piacere. Lo staff è stato educato alla sovracordialità - quindi aspettatevi saluti cortesi e sorrisoni al momento del controllo dei biglietti (ma senza essere invadenti o fastidiosi).
I biglietti comprati comodissimamente online (il sito è bello e intuitivo) non si stampano, ma che arrivano per sms e del cui codice basta ricordare la prima lettera, per poterne attestare la validità.
In sostanza: valutazione molto positiva!
Furthermore, the environments that I found were painstakingly cleaned and tidy - and that is always a nice thing. The staff has been educated to be extra-friendly - so you can wait to courteous greetings and big smiles when there's checking tickets time (but without being intrusive or annoying).
In addiction, you can cozily buy your tickets online (the site is nice and intuitive) and you don't have to print them, but you'll have a code by sms on your phone and you should just remember the first letter of it, to be able to attest to its validity.
In short: very positive assessment!

Ultimo piccolo punto a sfavore (del tutto personale): ho trovato i sedili non perfettamente confortevoli - NB: nella classe Smart. Sono larghi e comodi, ma se anche voi, come me, amate dormire in viaggio, forse sentirete la mancanza di predellino per i piedi e di poggiatesta laterali. Sono però tutti sedili reclinabili.
Allora vi è venuta voglia di provare? Ci sono interessanti offerte per l'estate proprio QUI.

Allora, cosa c'entravano gli Europei di calcio? Beh ieri sera mi ha fatto sorridere un messaggio di ItaloTreno ai suoi viaggiatori, preoccupati dalla mancanza di collegamento internet, poco prima della partita.

Last little point down (very personal): I found the seats are not perfectly comfortable - NB: that is only in the Smart class. They are large and soft, but if you, like me, you love to sleep on the road, maybe you will miss running boards for your feet and side headrests. But they are all reclining seats.

Reazione del pubblico: positiva. Solo messaggi di comprensione e addirittura incoraggiamento.
Non so dirvi come mai, anche perchè non si tratta certo di un modo rivoluzionario per risolvere un problema o un disservizio.
Ma sicuramente è una (buona) alternativa allo "scusarsi per il disagio".

I can not say why, because it is not a revolutionary way to solve a problem or malfunction.
But surely it is a (good) alternative to "apologize for the inconvenience."
