Last week the exhibition “The little black jacket”, devoted to Coco Chanel’s iconic piece, was inaugurated in Milan. Now it’s time for another exhibition, with Karl Lagerfeld as photographer: after the debut last February in the showroom in Paris, “Karl Lagerfeld photographie Cassina” has arrived in Milan and will be open until May 31.
The collaboration with the designer, who has bought several pieces produced by the Italian company during the last 50 years – the first one, the famous chaise longue Le Corbusier-Jeanneret-Perriand, was bought in the 60’s – originated during an informal discussion in Paris less than a year before the production, which was carried out in a very natural way, as explained by Gianluca Armento, Cassina’s brand manager.
The printing of the images, characterised by their large sizes – 105×210 cm or 150×300 cm – was committed to the publisher Gerhard Steidl. Every picture is published in an only copy, certified by the author.
