La patafisica, termine coniato dallo scrittore e drammaturgo francese Alfred Jarry, fu definita "la scienza delle soluzioni immaginarie e delle leggi che regolano le eccezioni" La patafisica è la pratica delle eccezioni alle teorie e di tutti i metodi della moderna e passata scienza, spesso è espressa con un linguaggio apparentemente nonsense. La patafisica ha le sue regole che inglobano tutte le possibilità immaginifiche possibili.
