Let me introduce myself: I am Laura Mint, from the blog The Cat’s Edge.
My dear friend Mary made me the great honour to invite me to write a post in her lovely blog and I really want to say thank you to her from the bottom of my heart!
I’m a marketing management student, who is almost finishing her master of science and some time ago I finally decided to create my own blog for combining and sharing my two passions: literature (since ever) and marketing (thanks to my studies).
For this special occasion I’d like to talk about something very special, too and, let me say, unique:

Sono una studentessa quasi al termine dei suoi studi di specializzazione in marketing e qualche tempo fa mi sono decisa a creare un blog in cui coniugare e condividere quelle che sono le mie due passioni: la letteratura (da sempre) e il marketing (grazie ai miei studi).
Per questa occasione speciale vorrei parlare quindi di qualcosa di altrettanto speciale, di unico direi:
Chanel N°5.
Since ever women (but also men) have been using perfumes for important events - like a gala dinner,a romantic date, a long-awaited party - but also for everyday life, to express their own personality and lifestyle. A perfume really meeting women’s needs in this sense is Chanel N°5, a worldwide bestseller and the most famous one. Since its creation by legendary Coco Chanel in the ‘20ies, it has become the symbol for a charming, feminine, but at the same time independent, self-assured and new woman (as the product’s characteristics show: number-naming, presence of chemical ingredients, pharmacy bottle..)

Dagli albori del tempo le donne (ma anche gli uomini) utilizzano i profumi per gli eventi importanti - una cena di gala, un appuntamento romantico, una festa tanto attesa - ma anche per tutti i giorni, per esprimere la propria personalità ed il proprio stile di vita. Un profumo che in questo senso viene davvero incontro alle donne è lo Chanel N°5, il più venduto al mondo e anche il più famoso. Sin dalla sua creazione negli anni ’20 da parte della leggendaria Coco Chanel il N°5 è il simbolo di una donna di charme, femminile, ma allo stesso tempo indipendente, decisa e nuova (come trasmesso dalle caratteristiche del prodotto: il nome numerico, la presenza di ingredienti chimici, la boccetta da farmacia..)
But what lies behind this icon? What did its creator really want to communicate? What is, hence, N°5’s history?Tilar J. Mazzeo (http://tjmazzeo.wordpress.com/) is telling us this in her fascinating book “The secret of Chanel N°5”, about which I don’t want to anticipate you too much, but I must say that it’s a real must for everyone who is appreciating the legendary perfume!

Ma che cosa si cela dietro a questa icona? Cosa desiderava comunicare la sua creatrice? Qual è insomma la storia del N°5? Ce lo racconta l’autrice Tilar J. Mazzeo (http://tjmazzeo.wordpress.com/) nel suo intrigante libro “Il segreto di Chanel N°5”, del quale non voglio anticiparvi troppo, se non che sia un must per chiunque apprezzi il mitico profumo!
… By the way, it seems to be confirmed that N°5’s new testimonial is Brad Pitt: a man for the first time! ...Tra l’altro sembra davvero confermato che il nuovo testimonial del N°5 sia Brad Pitt e quindi un uomo per la prima volta!
A secret we can already reveal even before reading the book: Chanel N°5’s success surely depends on its capacity of being always able to surprise!
Anche prima di leggere il libro, un “segreto” possiamo già svelarlo: il successo dello Chanel N°5 è sicuramente legato alla sua capacità di saper sempre sorprendere!
