Louise bourgeois at garage gallery

Creato il 20 novembre 2015 da Scostumista @scostumista
I was lucky!
Last week I went to visit the Garage gallery in Moscow and I found one of my favorite artist's exhibition.
Louise Bourgeois.
Her career started in the late 1930s in Paris and culminating in New York.
Her prolific career lasted more than 70 years.
Bourgeois initially pursued an education in philosophy and mathematics, but soon after her mother's death in 1932, she turned her attention to art.
Structures of Existence: the Cells focuses on the extraordinary series of sculptural environments the artist created in the last two decades of her life. Also included in the exhibition are the early sculptures, paintings, and drawings which led to the development of this innovative body of work.
On the square in front of the Museum: the monumental bronze spider Maman (1999), entering in the hall you can see part of Garage's Commission series: Has the Day Invaded the Night or Has the Night Invaded the Day?(2007).
First and second floor: Structures of Existence: the Cells
There are approximately 60 works in the Cell series, for which Bourgeois assembled found objects, artifacts from her daily life (clothing, fabric, and furniture), and her own sculptures within distinctive architectural enclosures. Are also included in this exhibition, together with early sculptures, paintings, and drawings which led to the development of this innovative body of work.

Has the Day Invaded the Night or Has the Night Invaded the Day?(2007).
Primo e secondo piano: Structures of Existence: the Cells
