medagliette recuperose - upcycled dog tags

vi ricordate di questi tappi di metallo (rimasti dalle nostre bottiglie di vetro di l'acqua) e maniche di magliette (rimaste dopo diversi progetti, tipo il tappettino del bagno)? ho postato anche una foto di tantissime scatole di cartone. serviva tutto quanto per un progetto di "green art" per bambini a cui ho partecipato la settimana scorsa durante il quale i bimbi hanno costruito...
remember these metal bottle caps (left over from our glass water bottles) and t-shirt sleeves (left over from various projects, such as my bathroom rug)? i also posted a photo of a bunch of cardboard boxes. this stuff was all for a children's "green art" project that i participated in last week, during which the kids created...

...cani di cartone! qui ci sono quelli fatti da mia figlia e suo cugino.
...cardboard dogs! here are the ones my daughter and her cousin made.
 

si disegnava la sagoma del cane sul cartone usando una forma pretagliata o facendolo a mano libera. (dato che ero molto impegnata tutto il tempo, non ce l'ho fatta a scattare neanche una foto all'evento. queste vengono dalle pagine degli eventi facebook. cliccando su ciascuno ti porterà alla foto postata originale.)
they traced the dog shape onto the cardboard from a precut one or just freehanding it. (seeing as i was very busy the entire time, i didn't manage to take a single picture at the event. these ones are from the facebook events' pages. clicking on each one will bring you to the original posted photo.)

poi si coloravano, tagliavano e decoravano con tanti materiali di recupero (non per forza in quell'ordine).
then they colored them, cut them out and decorated them with all sorts of recuperated materials (not necessarily in that order).

c'erano dei tappettini a terra con delle stazioni con materiali per lavorare. i bimbi si sono molto divertiti e alcuni si sono proprio sbizzariti con la decorazione dei cani!
there were blankets on the ground for work stations with materials to work with. the kids had loads of fun and some really went all out with their dog decorations!

poi i bimbi hanno fatto fare dei percorsi divertenti ai loro cani, dopodichè sono arrivati dei cani veri con la loro addestratrice e hanno fatto loro gli stessi percorsi.
then the kids had their dogs run an obstacle course, after which real dogs arrived with their trainer and they also did the same course.

un'altra veduta dell'azione. io sono quella appena sotto la tenda con la maglietta viola e al collo qualcosa di cui parlerò la prossima volta. ora vi faccio vedere come abbiamo trasformato le maniche in collari e i tappi in medagliette.

per le medagliette, si prende qualcosa di appuntita (qui un rompighiaccio), un martello, un giornale o altro da mettere sotto e ovviamento un tappo di metallo.
for the tags, get something pointy (here an ice pick), a hammer, a magazine or something else to put underneath and obviously a metal bottle cap.

si fa un bel foro nel tappo martellando l'oggetto appuntito prescelto. sul retro esce un pezzettino di metallo un pochino tagliente, quindi ho usato la punta del rompighiaccio per piegarlo in basso per non dare fastidio.
make a nice little hole in the cap by hammering your preferred pointy object. a little bit of sharp metal can stick out the back, so i just used the tip of the ice pick to bend it back out of harm's way.

con un pennarello indelebile si può scrivere il nome dell'animale e/o del padrone. in alternativa si può coprire il tappo con uno sticker. (meglio se lo applichi prima di fare il foro.) (povera faccina... sembra che qualcuno gli abbia sparato in testa....)
use a permanent marker to write animal's and/or owner's names. or you can cover the cap with a sticker. (but it's better if you stick it on before punching the hole.) (poor little smiley guy... it looks like someone shot him square in the head....)

per il collare basta tagliare una striscia da una manica. usando il bordo cucito funziona molto bene, ma si può usare tutto.
as for the collar, just cut a strip off of a sleeve. using the hem works pretty well, but you can use the whole thing.

con un po' di filo o spago o quello che vuoi, si lega la medaglietta al collare.
tie the tag onto the collar with a bit of thread or twine or whatever you choose.

ed ecco george e clifford con i loro nuovi accessori! è un'attività recuperosa, divertente e facile. la prossima volta vi faccio vedere quello che ho fatto con le strisce di maniche avanzate dalla giornata!
