Come era accaduto a Parigi, ad Amsterdam io e mia sorella siamo riuscite a scovare un piacevolissimo piccolo ristorante dove si riesce a mangiare ottimi piatti della tradizione spendendo una cifra umana (17,50 € a testa per primo, secondo, tè e mancia - pasteggiando con acqua minerale).Il luogo in questione si chiama Restaurant de Rozenboom e si trova in una bellissima e stretta viuzza, incorniciato da un arco di edera: Rozenboomsteeg 6.
Si trova vicino a Spui: una zona centralissima di Amsterdam molto viva e piacevole, soprattutto per la densa concentrazione di negozi e caffè e per la sua vicinanza da piazza Dam - la piazza principale della città.

As had happened in Paris; in Amsterdam, my sister and I, we managed to find a pleasant little restaurant where you can eat great traditional food spending a reasonable price (17.50 € per person having an entree, a main dish, tea and tip - drinking mineral water).
The site in question is called Restaurant de Rozenboom and it is located in a beautiful, narrow lane, framed by an arch of ivy: Rozenboomsteeg 6.
It is located near Spui: a central area of Amsterdam very lively and pleasant,especially for the dense concentration of shops and cafes and its proximity to the Dam Square - the city's main square.

Abbiamo scoperto Restaurant de Rozenboomper caso, attirate dalla sua posizione ritirata ed intima ed insieme ricercata e caratteristica.
Siccome agli olandesi piace sapere quanto spenderanno al ristorante (e anche a noi!), ogni ristorante (di qualunque target) espone il proprio menù con listino prezzi.
We discovered by chance Restaurant de Rozenboom, attracted by its retracted position and intimate, sophisticated and feature set.
Since the Dutch like to know how much they will spend at the restaurant (and we love it too!), Every restaurant (any target) sets out its menu with price list.

Abbiamo sfruttato quest'abitudine per studiare ogni posto che incontravamo, siccome, in generale, i ristoranti sono molto cari (un main dish costa in media una ventina di euro, solo lui). E abbiamo piacevolmente scoperto che Restaurant de Rozenboom incredibilmente permetteva con un 15/17 € un menù ricco e completo direttamente dalla antica olanda: nulla di migliore!Potete consultare il menù sul loro sito CLICCANDO QUI.
We exploited this habit to study every place we met, because, in general, restaurants are quite expensive (a main dish costs around 20 €, just it). And we pleasantly discovered that Restaurant de Rozenboom incredibly allowed with a 15/17 € a rich and complete menu directly from the old Dutch: nothing better!

L'arredamento originale e accogliente ci ha accompagnato lungo la nostra buona cena.Per primo piatto abbiamo entrambe preso una favolosa zuppa di champignon (ah! il menù è multilingue e c'è anche l'italiano!) tipica olandese. Servita caldissima in una terrina, è un piatto davvero squisito, cucinato come si deve: consigliatissima!
Per secondo io ho scelto un altro must del luogo: cozze fritte. Amo le cozze e non me le sono fatta sfuggire. Molto buone - fritte direttamente, non in pastella. Purtroppo, come tutto ad Amsterdam, sono servite con le patatine fritte - e insomma i due sapori non sono la migliore delle accoppiate! Però nulla di che lamentarmi, si trattava di un buon fritto, digeribile e saporito.
Mia sorella invece ha preso una frittata al prosciutto e formaggio, a suo dire molto buona. I nostri vicini di tavolo (nonché unici altri clienti, siccome gli olandesi mangiano molto presto e noi abbiamo mantenuto orari quasi italiani) avevano invece ordinato i famosi pancakes salati, che hanno tutta l'aria di essere molto simili alle crêpes (però aperti, non piegati in due o in quattro come la pietanza francese). Avevano un ottimo aspetto (nonostante mi fossero stati sconsigliati, ricordate?) e mi sono ripromessa di provali un'altra sera, ma non ce n'è poi più stata occasione.
Per concludere: un buon tè caldo, verde, a scelta tra moltissime tipologie e sapori.
The original furniture and cozy accompanied us along our good dinner.
For main course we both got a fabulous mushroom soup (ha! the menu is multilingual and there is also English and Italian!) Typically Dutch. It is served very hot, in a bowl, and it's a really delicious dish, cooked as it should be cooked: so raccomended!For second dish I chose another must in Holland: fried mussels. I love mussels and I couldn't miss them. They was very good - fried directly, not in batter. Unfortunately, like everything in Amsterdam, are served with French fries - and in fact these two together are not the best of flavors! But nothing to complain, it was a good fried, tasty and digestible.
My sister however took an omelet with ham and cheese, she said it was very good.
Our neighbors at the next table (and only other customers in the restaurant, because the Dutch eat very early and we have maintained Italians time) had instead ordered the famous salted pancakes, which have every appearance of being very similar to crêpes (but pancakes are open, not folded as the French food is). They was looking great (although I had been discouraged, can you remember?) And I promised myself to try them on another night, but then there wasn't any opportunity to do it.
Finally: a good hot tea, green, chosen from among many types and flavors.

Abbiamo speso in due 35 €, includendo un 10% di mancia, come sarebbe consueto fare in questo paese.Non posso che consigliarvi caldamente questo ristorante per la sua accoglienza e l'ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo.
Our overall bill was 35 €, including a 10% tip, as would normally do in this country.
I just can highly recommend this restaurant for its hospitality and the excellent quality / price ratio.

Come la stragrande maggiorparte dei locali di Amsterdam, il Restaurant de Rozenboom ha un gatto in adozione che gironzola simpaticamente tra i tavoli. Io e mia sorella, da vere amanti dei piccoli felini , abbiamo subito fatto amicizia col bel gattone che ci ha maggiormente rallegrato la serata.Spero che questa prima segnalazione possa esservi utile! Prossimamente parleremo ancora di cibo, di spuntini e caffetterie!

As the vast majority of eateries in Amsterdam, the Restaurant de Rozenboom has adopted a cat who cheerfully walks between the tables. My sister and I, as true lovers of small felines, we quickly made friends with this nice kitty and he make our evening even more enjoyable.
I hope that this first report will be useful! Soon we shall speak of food, snacks and coffee!
