Un altro aneddoto: sta volta si svolge un mattino molto presto, di ritorno dal Quebec (di cui parleremo nelle prossime puntate). Io morivo dalla fame (ero in viaggio in bus dal pomeriggio precedente) e mi son buttato in uno Starbuck's per ordinare una grandiosa colazione. Arrivato alla cassa, la mia carta di credito ha iniziato ad avere dei problemi, impedendomi di pagare il conto. In tasca, ovviamente, avevo solo una banconota da cento dollari (i famosi 100 dollari che al mattino nessuno vuol cambiarti...). Rassegnato, me ne stavo uscendo sconsolato dal locale (a pancia vuota), fino a quando...
Another anecdote: this time it's during a very early morning, returning from Quebec (which will be discussed in the next episodes). I was dying of hunger (I was traveling by bus from the previous afternoon) and I have thrown in a Starbuck's to order a great breakfast. Arrived at the checkout, my credit card has started to have problems, preventing me to pay the bill. In my pocket, of course, there was only a hundred-dollar bill (the famous $ 100 that no one wants to change you in the morning ...). Resigned, I was sadly coming out from local (on an empty stomach), until ...

... una signora mi chiama avvertendomi di aver pagato lei la mia colazione, senza possibilità di repliche. Ho avuto giusto il tempo di ringraziarla, che era già andata via augurandomi una buona giornata.
... a lady calls warned me that she had paid my breakfast, without the possibility of replicas. I had just enough time to say thank you, that she was already gone wishing me a good day.
