L’Unione Europea ha una nuova “casa” nel centro di Sofia. Il Ravoski Business Center, edificio vetrato dalle forme particolari, conta sette piani per gli uffici della UE ed è opera dello studio di architettura “Proarch“. Sono 2.500 mq che sono “cresciuti” al posto della vecchia casa del politico bulgaro Stefan Stambolov che negli anni ’80 è stata demolita, così come altri monumenti e strutture non più considerati “importanti” per questioni politiche. Questo nuovo edificio d’angolo si erge nella sua maestosa presenza, assai diversa da quella degli adiacenti palazzi del centro della capitale bulgara, ma per questo non discordante. Risulta quel contrasto tra “antico e moderno” che non dispiace, anzi si contestualizza bene, quasi fosse un “cristallo di roccia” bene inserito e radicato in questa via storica della città. E’ stato acquistato il suolo nel 2009 ed ora si stanno facendo gli ultimi “ritocchi”, vi sono: reception, uffici, sale conferenza, parcheggio sotterraneo. Se volete visitarlo andate in 124 Georgi Rakovski Street (гиорги стойков ракоъскир), Sofia!
E a proposito di “cristalli di roccia” direi che dovreste visitare anche il Museo dei Minerali, a pochi passi dal National Palace of Culture (NDK) che se non ricordo male, è il secondo museo più fornito in materia a livello mondiale!
