Pochettes: un mondo in tasca

Recentemente vi ho parlato di uno dei (tanti... troppi) accessori da uomo per cui stravedo: i gemelli. Ora mi sembra giusto affrontare il tema pochettes in vista, chissà, di un rapido post sulle cravatte. Come per queste ultime la pochette deve essere, per me, rigorosamente poco sobria. Eccovi una breve lista non esaustiva:
Mariano Rubinacci:
La storica sartoria napoletana fa belle pochettes di seta, che catapultano nel mondo di una Napoli dei "bei tempi andati", nell' 800, gloriosa e splendida (ora non più di tanto, purtroppo), al prezzo relativamente ragionevole di 54 euro.
Recently I told you about one of  the (lots... too many) accessories for men that make me crazy: the cufflikns. Now it seems right to speak about pocket squares, and maybe, in the future, about ties. As for the ties, the pocket square has to be, for me, strictly  not sober. Here a brief list (not exhaustive):

Mariano Rubinacci:
The historical Neapolitan tailoring house makes beautiful silk pocket squares, which catapult into the world of the old and rich Naples, in the XIX century, that was glorious and beautiful (much more than now much, unfortunately), at the relatively reasonable price of 54 €.

This one reproduces the ceiling of the San Carlo, Naples opera theater: one of the glories of our country, the oldest Opera theater still active of the Italian peninsula and also the largest. From the Rubinacci website:  "On the arc scenic, the magnificent Stem of the Bourbons and the Clock, with the Time running with its sickle and the Siren of Arts who obstructs it, among a little angels crowd and some golden figures smiling from every boxes, on the background of red velvets."

Dal sito: "L'ultimo nato della collezione Rubinacci, creato per l'apertura della Maison di Londra, Il Victory rappresenta la barca dell' ammiraglio Nelson dove sulla sommita' dell' albero maestro era issato il famoso messaggio: "England expects that every man will do his duty" [L' Inghilterra si aspetta che ogni uomo faccia il suo dovere, ndr]. La storia narra che nel corso di una missione a Napoli, nel settembre del 1793, conobbe Emma Lyon, moglie dell'ambasciatore britannico presso la corte borbonica Sir William Hamilton, con la quale strinse successivamente una intensa relazione sentimentale. Da qui la voglia di rappresentare il Victory nelle acque di Napoli e di apporre ai quattro angoli del foulard i vari Cupidi."

The Story tells that during a mission in Naples, on the September of 1973, he met Emma Lyon, the wife of Sir William Hamilton the British ambassador at the Bourbonnais Court, with whom he established an intense sentimental liaison. Dopo questa immersione nelle bellezze partenopee (ci sono ancora un po' di pochettes che potete trovare nell' e-store di Rubinacci), ci spostiamo nel nord freddo e austero, ma ugualmente bello, a Parigi.
Qui infatti hanno sede Arnys (ve ne ricordate? Ne parlavo anche per i gemelli) ed Hermès, che riproduce i disegni dei suoi foulard esotici oispirati al mondo dell' equitazione.
After this immersion in the Neapolitan beauties (there are still some pocket squares you can find in the e-store of the brand), we move to the cold, but equally beautiful north, in Paris. 
Here there are the homes of Arnys (do you remember? I spoke about it also in the cufflinks post) and Hermès, that reproduces the designs of its scarves, exotics or inspired by the world of riding.

The last one, Peuple du vent (people of the wind) is very charming. 
Sempre da Parigi troviamo quelle di Arnys, double face: da una parte simpatiche papere, dall' altra eleganti cervi. A dx la pochette e a sinistra dei dettagli. Il disegno è sempre lo stesso con vari colori differenti.
From Paris we also find those from Arnys, double face: on a side funny ducks, on the other elegant deers. At the right the pocket square and at the left some details; the design is the same, changing in colors from photo to photo.  
  Le mie preferite sono forse le Rubinacci, me ne piace molto l' atmosfera. Ma altrettanto belli gli Hermès,  un po' più moderni e, non so perchè, li vedo più da foulard da donna che pochettes. Infine (last but not least, si direbbe in Inglese) Arnys, quella blu e rossa è molto elegante e simpatico il duble face.
My favs are maybe Rubinacci ones, 'cause I like their atmosphere. Hermès ones are also beautiful, but more modern and, dunno why, I think at them more as women scarves. Last but not least Arnys: the blue and red one is very elegant and the double face effect is very funny.
