This long and sunny weekend eventually came to an end too. Leaving behind a trail of sweet memories of freedom and loneliness and long bike rides and naps on a sofa. But also a fuzzy hangover mixed with the bitterness of being back in the office.
I couldn’t have received a better soundtrack than Lofticries to this precious moment. Released as b-side of the first single of Purity Ring (Transparent records) it’s way much better. A futuristic ballad made of glitches and alien sounds, a dramatic instance of modern pop music. I like every single bit of this tune, but pay particular attention to the vocals, shifting here and there through the song leading the rythm, without dropping a second.
And when you think it can’t get any better, and the song is fading away, here it starts again for a last handful of seconds, growing the sense of mystery and making you eager to play it again. And again.
