Rinnovare un cassettone ikea Malm /How to renew Ikea Malm dresser

La cassettiera Ikea Malm color rovere non stava più bene con i nuovi mobili della camera di mio figlio. Andava decisamente rinnovata! Ecco come ho fatto, potete provarci anche voi, è facile!The Ikea Malm dresser in oak color was no longer suitable to the new furniture in my son's room. It had to be definitely renewed! Prendete una cassettiera Malm e datele due mani di cementite.Take an Ikea Malm dresser and give it two coats of cementite.

Lasciate asciugare bene e passate una cartavetrata fine per lisciare il lavoro. Dipingete il mobile con pittura acrilica all'acqua. Io ho dato 3 mani.Let dry thoroughly and run a fine sandpaper to smooth the work. Give two.three coats of white acrylic waterpaint. 

Stampate con una stampante laser su fogli A4 le scritte che volete mettere sui cassetti poi ritagliale il più accuratamente possibile.Print  the writings on an A4 sheet using a laser printer,  then cut them out as accurately as possible.
In una ciotola fate un miscuglio di 2 parti di colla vinilica e 1 di acqua che passerete sul mobile nel punto in cui dovete inserire le scritte. Fate ben attenzione a prendere il punto centrale del cassetto altrimenti le scritte risulteranno storte. Attenzione anche che le scritte non vengano sottosopra rispetto al frontale del cassetto che infatti ha un sopra e un sotto evidenziato dalla filettatura che ospita il fondo del cassetto. Appoggiate delicatamente le lettere sul mobile, nel punto in cui avete messo la colla, partendo dalla lettera centrale. Passate sulla scritta un piccolo rullo intinto ancora di acqua e colla. In a bowl make a mixture of 2 parts of white glue and one of water. Pass it on the point where you have to insert the writings. Mind to get the central point of the drawer and that the text isn't upside down respect to  the drawer.  Glue the writings gently starting from the central letter. Put some other glue and water on the writings.
Dopo aver inserito le scritte date 5-6 mani di smalto trasparente all'acqua. Passando un dito sulle scritte si deve sentire che sono completamente coperte dallo smalto trasparente.After the decoupage cover with 5-6 coats of transparent water painting to protect the decoupage work.
 Rimontate i frontali dei cassetti e rimetteteli al loro posto. E voilà il  MALM è pronto.Reassemble the drawer fronts and put them back in their place. And that's it! The new MALM is ready.
