Rumors Has It - Le News dal Mondo del Cinema

E' uno dei romanzi americani più conosciuti e apprezzati (anche dalla sottoscritta), e finora farne un adattamento cinematografico sembrava impensabile. Phillip Noyce ha invece deciso di buttarsi facendo di Pastorale Americana, che nel 1997 ha fatto vincere al suo autore Philip Roth il premio Pulitzer, un film con protagonista (nei panni di Swede Levov) Ewan McGregor.
Le riprese inizieranno nel 2015.
Dall'alto della sua esperienza, Francis Ford Coppola negli ultimi anni si era allontanato dagli studios per lasciarsi andare con progetti indipendenti e più piccoli (Un'altra giovinezza, Twixt, Segreti di Famiglia). La storia che ha ora per le mani, però, per sua stessa ammissione ha bisogno dei fondi e dei luoghi di ripresa delle grandi produzione, e il regista è così tornato a Los Angeles.
Quel che si sa, sul suo ambizioso progetto, è che attraverserà più decenni, a partire dagli anni '20 fino ai '60.
Cosa ne uscirà?
Madre e figlia nella vita come nel set. Meryl Streep e Mamie Gummer potrebbero infatti unirsi nel cast del nuovo film di Jonathan Demme, Ricki and the Flash, commedia che vede la prima come una patita del rock che ha dovuto sopire il suo spirito ribelle per la famiglia, la seconda una figlia fresca di divorzio che cerca disperatamente le cure materne. Nel ruolo dell'ex marito e del padre, invece, Kevin Kline.
Si aspettano conferme, probabili visto lo slancio pubblicitario della notizia.
Una realtà che ricalca quasi la trama di Homeland, quella del caso di Bowe Bergdahl, soldato americano tenuto prigioniero dai Talebani per 5 anni e ora che è stato liberato, accusato dalla destra di essere una spia. Ad interessarsi della cronaca, Kathryn Bigelow (sempre più invischiata nel militarismo dopo The Hurt Locker e  Zero Dark Thirty) assieme a Mark Boal, ma anche Tod Field per la Fox Searchlight, in un progetto parallelo dal titolo The True American.
Se per l'animazione i tempi non sono certo d'oro, non lo saranno prossimamente, almeno per quel che si legge. La DreamWorks conclusa la saga di Shrek si lancia infatti sui Trolls, le bamboline dai capelli fluo tanto di moda negli anni '90. L'idea di Mike Michell, regista del progetto, è quella di farne più film in versione musical, addirittura.
Al momento l'unica voce confermata è quella di Anna Kendrick.
Passando al piccolo schermo, dopo le parole piene di esitazioni di Vince Gilligan sulla creazione dello spin-off Better Call Saul, sorprende la decisione dell'AMC di rinnovare a scatola chiusa la serie per una seconda stagione.
Per vedere finalmente la prima, invece, si dovrà pazientare fino al 2015.
Concludiamo infine con i vincitori dei Critics' Choice Television Award , i premi dedicati alle serie televisive che hanno visto trionfare ovviamente Breaking Bad e Matthew McConaughey nel lato drama, Orange is the New Black nelle comedy, The Normal Heart e Fargo nei film tv e nelle miniserie.
Premi meritati anche quelli andati a Allison Janne in Masters of Sex e alla trasformista Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black:
