Gli amici/lettori italiani che seguono il rugby hanno già capito dal titolo di chi sto parlando: Sabrina Conforti è più che una garanzia, se si parla di fotografia ovale. Assieme a lei, tantissimi altri professionisti dell’obiettivo, ma con Sabrina ho potuto stringere un bel rapporto di amicizia, che è nato – comunque – dalla stima che ho per lei come professionista.
Un anno fa, Sabrina è partita per la Nuova Zelanda per seguire i mondiali di rugby. Nella terra dei Maori ci è rimasta due mesi, scattando fotografie stupende dei meravigliosi paesaggi, della natura incontaminata, della gente del posto, del rugby giocato… e fuori dai campi.
Durante il suo viaggio Sabrina ha scritto un diario che ben volentieri ho ospitato su Uenuku, la rubrica de IlGrillotalpa che ho tenuto durante la RWC 2011. E oggi, la nostra ‘fotografa downunder‘ è tornata su quel diario, per rivivere e condividere ancora l’atmosfera kiwi.
Il progetto si chiama ‘RWC Replay‘, e di fatto propone una foto al giorno, per 60 giorni. Ogni scatto racconta una piccola storia racchiusa in una grande avventura dall’altra parte della Terra.

My Italian friends and readers who used to enjoy rugby have already known the name of Sabrina Conforti and her SCstile brand. She’s more than a guarantee, while talking about rugby photography. Together with her there are lots of professional photographers, but I hit off with Sabrina more easily than with other people, assuming that the friendships is born starting from the respect I have for her as a professional.
An year ago, Sabrina went out to New Zealand to follow the rugby world cup. She stayed there for two months, shooting stunning pics about the amazing kiwi landscapes, the uncontaminated nature of New Zealand, the new zealanders and of course the rugby… inside and outside the fields.
During her journey Sabrina wrote a diary which I had the pleasure of hosting on Uenuku, the IlGrillotalpa‘s column I had during the RWC 2011. And today, our downunder photographer gets back on that diary, to live and share again the New Zealand atmosphere.
The project is called ‘RWC Replay‘, and consists of one pic a day for 60 days. Every photo tells a little story held into a big adventure on the other side of the Earth.
