SiS New York, abiti Vintage

Oggi, ritornando a parlare di brand, sono lieta di presentarvi un brand molto “cool” oserei dire, o almeno così ho deciso di definirlo la prima volta che l’ho scoperto. Il brand è stato creato da due giovani designers, due sorelle,  Sveva e Sara Alviti, che dalla loro sinergia hanno dato vita ad un brand di abbigliamento vintage: SiS New York.  Sveva è un attrice e Sara, la più giovane, è una stilista e una cantante con sede a New York. Entrambe vivono molto la creatività e il contatto con la natura.

La passione di Sara per i vestiti e per i film d’epoca  è nata tre anni fa quando lavorava per un noto stilista. Dal salone di ogni designers famoso ci fu una storia da raccontare, deitro ogni pezzo e ogni prova. Così, sempre con una ricerca approfondita, prima di ogni ripresa, Sara si è imbattuta in un fil meraviglioso tratto dal romanzo “Il Grande Gatsby“, basato sulla storia di F. Scott Fitzgerald.  L’eleganza e il fascino del passato, per non parlare della bellezza di Mia Farrow in questa immagine meravigliosa, l’hanno commossa e l’hanno ispirata a provare e sentire il suo aspetto sempre chic in ogni situazione.

 Guardando i vecchi film e facendo riferimento agli splendidi dipinti dell’impressionismo in Francia, e la ricerca attraverso i mercatini delle pulci più belli degli Stati Uniti,  Sara ha inziato la raccolta di molti pezzi.

“Perchè spendere 1000 dollari per un nuovo abito, quando si può trovare la igliore versione di questo… soprattuto quando c’è un problema di eccessiva produzione in questo pianeta, la gente compra e butta via le cose costantemente. Allora, perchè non valorizzare ciò che già abbiamo?”

L’idea del brand nasce, quando Sveva, sua sorella, si reca a Brooklin nell’appartamento di Sara e rimane stupita della straordinaria collezione di abiti vintage posta nel suo armadio, e così decidono insieme di avviare un business creando “Sis New York“.

Sis sta per sorelle.

 E’ molto bello il modo in cui si sono riunite e raccolto le idee per la linea, e naturalmente, ogni stagione ci saranno dei film brevi, a tema con il brand, che caratterizza Sara e Sveva e i loro talenti che parleranno delle loro collezioni. Un giovane e futuro fotografo, e regista sarà impiegato per dare spazio anche nel web, per questo le menti creative, spesso, non vengono considerate; a causa di nepotismo. L’idea principale è quella di viaggiare per il mondo e trovare ciò che nella moda è il suo “già lì”. Ringrazio di cuore Sveva e Sara per la disponibilità e la collaborazione, Sis New York mi piace tantissimo e trovo che la loro creatività sia meravigliosa.

Today, returning to talk about brands, I am pleased to present a brand very “cool”, or so I decided to call it the first time I found out. The brand was created by two young designers, two sisters, Sveva and Sara Alviti, who by their synergy gave birth to a brand of vintage clothing: “SiS New York“. Sveva is an actress and Sarah, the youngest, is a fashion designer and a singer based in New York. They both live very creative lives and are very in touch with nature. Sara’s passion for vintage clothing and vintage movies was born three years ago when she was working for a very well known stylist.  From any well known designer’s showroom, there was an active story telling behind each piece and each shot . 

So always in deep research before every shoot she came across a wonderful movie based on F.Scott Fitzgerald novel “The Great Gatsby”.The elegance and charm of the past , not to mention beauty Mia Farrow in this excellent picture ,deeply moved her and inspired her to try and always look and feel chic in every situation. Watching old movies and referring to beautiful paintings from the impressionism of France and searching through the most beautiful flea markets in and across the United States , Sara started collecting many pieces.

“Why spend a 1000 dollars for a new dress, when you can find the best version of it ….especially when there is a problem of over production in this planet , people buy and throw away things constantly . So why not valuing what we already have?”

Sveva , her sister came to visit Sara in her Brooklyn apartment about 6 months ago astonished by the amazing collection of vintage clothing in her closet decided to start a business and “Sis New York” she said!

Sis stands for sisters. It is very beautiful how they came together and gathered ideas for the line ; and of course every season there will be amazing little short films , themes for the brand that feauture Sara and Sveva and their many talents to make their collection speak. Young and upcoming photographer and director will be used to also give space in the web for this creative minds that ,sometimes , are not well considered because of nepotism. The idea is to travel the world and find what in fashion its “already there”.
