Storie di legno e cenere: una nuova mostra

Questa è una storia che inizia un po’ di tempo fa. Quando insegnavo in una scuola di fotografia e linguaggi visivi.
Un’esperienza interessante, che mi ha fatto sicuramente crescere.
Tra i miei studenti c’era Stefania (che era una giovane fotografa insicura ma molto promettente) con cui sono rimasta in contatto negli anni.
Lei e il suo ragazzo, Alessandro, che fa lo scultore, sono venuti a vedere alcune mostre curate da me, una pochi mesi fa.
Alessandro un giorno mi ha chiamato per dirmi che aveva in mente un progetto espositivo, da realizzare con una sua amica pittrice: Anna, chiedendomi se avevo voglia di aiutarli in questa avventura. Da qui è iniziata la sinergia…

This is a story that starts some time ago. When I was a teacher in a school of photography and visual languages.
An interesting experience, which definitely made me grow.
Among my students there was Stefania (a young photographer insecure but very promising). We kept in touch over the years.
She and her boyfriend, Alessandro, who is a sculptor, came to see some exhibitions curated by me, a few months ago.
One day Alessandro called me to tell me that he had in mind a project for an exhibition, with a painter friend: Anna. He asked me if I wanted to help them in this adventure. From here began the synergy…

E dopo alcuni mesi di “incubazione” è nata “Lignum et Cinis“: la mostra bipersonale che inaugureremo mercoledì 18 giugno, con le opere di Alessandro Pagnoni e Anna Facchini, alla Plaumann Art Gallery di Milano.
Perchè abbiamo scelto questo titolo? Perchè in italiano significa “legno e cenere”: le sculture di Alessandro sono in legno dipinto a mano e le tele di Anna sono dipinte, oltre che con il classici colori, con la cenere.
Davvero è il caso di dire “da cosa nasce cosa”: dal legno alla cenere e dalla cenere al legno in un ciclo naturale che si ripete di continuo; così come da un’esperienza di insegnamento si è creato un progetto.
Venite a incontrare questi ragazzini scolpiti che sembrano ascoltare e sorridere sornioni e le figure dipinte da Anna, così terrose che sembrano appartenere alla natura e a volerci tornare. Venite a scoprire il percorso espositivo, arricchito di installazioni, che pian piano prende forma. Venite a brindare e fare 4 chiacchiere con noi!

And after several months of “incubation” it was born “Lignum et Cinis”: the two-person exhibition that will open Wednesday, June 18, with the artworks by Alessandro Pagnoni and Anna Facchini, at the Plaumann Art Gallery in Milan.
Why do we chose this title? Because in Italian it means “wood and ashes”: the sculptures of Alessandro are on hand-painted wood and the canvas are painted by Anna with ash in addition to the classic colors.
It’s actually true that “one thing leads to another”: from wood to ash and from ash to wood in a natural cycle that keeps repeating itself; as well as a teaching experience has created a project.
Come to meet these sculpted kids who seem to listen and their sly smile and the paintings of Anna, so earthy that look like to belong to the nature and want to return. Come and discover the exhibition, enhanced with installations, that are gradually taking shape. Come and make a toast and have some chat with us!
