Forlì è stata selezionata insieme a Colwood, Surrey, Vancouver (Canada), Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi (India), Arendal, Oslo, Stavanger (Norvegia), Malmö,Stoccolma, Uppsala (Norvegia), Chicago, Cincinnati, San Francisco (Usa).

A sustainable Forli

Forli has developed an ambitious and credible climate action plan, which engages the public is engaged in various projects. This medium-sized municipality is implementing a broad set of notable actions from the installation of photovoltaics on public and private buildings to waste reduction and reuse measures.

  • Renewable Energy

    Forli invests in a broad range of renewable energy sources – primarily solar. Solar panels have been installed on public buildings such as primarily schools and kindergartens. Forli has also planned to collect biodegradable waste for biogas production.

  • Energy Efficient Buildings

    Forli runs a comprehensive energy efficiency program that includes measures such as the introduction of energy efficient LED lamps in cemeteries and improved energy performance of public buildings.

  • Mobility Strategy

    Forli’s mobility strategy supports sustainable transport and a decrease in the use of private cars. Measures include the use of Park and Ride facilities for commuters, increasing the length of cycling lanes, introducing bike sharing scheme and a goods delivery logistic platform.

    Historians are not in agreement about exactly when Forli was founded. Some argue that it was built early 2nd century B.C, while others believe the town is younger, dating its foundation to the time of Julius Caesar.
