Uno dei posti più misteriosi, inquietanti e interessanti di Londra, a mio avviso, è la Last Tuesday Society. Di cosa si tratta? Difficile dirlo con certezza: è una società segreta di buontemponi che si divertono a organizzare feste lussuose sullo stile di Eyes Wide Shut per ogni occasione - due colleghi di lavoro del mio ragazzo sono andati alla loro festa di Natale lo scorso anno e ci hanno raccontato cose incredibili, tra fontane di cioccolato e fanciulle nude tutte dipinte d'oro che giravano per la sala - ma è anche un'organizzazione che promuove seminari e convegni interessanti sulla filosofia, la storia, la scienza e la vita. Per finire, hanno un meraviglioso e torbidissimo negozio-museo in Mare Street, abbastanza vicino a dove viviamo noi. Io e il mio ragazzo ci siamo capitati per caso in una domenica pomeriggio dello scorso novembre: dovevamo andare a incontrare un'amica e il bus ci ha lasciato proprio davanti alla vetrina di questo posto strano ma interessantissimo. Come resistere all'insegna che recitava "Little Shop of Horrors"? Siamo entrati e, previa donazione di 1 o 2 sterline - questo è lasciato alla generosità del visitatore! - abbiamo potuto visitare il loro piccolo museo nel seminterrato. Ho scattato diverse foto (ne trovate qualcuna in questo post!) perché davvero non riuscivo a credere ai miei occhi. Come potete vedere, si può trovare davvero di tutto!
Se dovessi pensare a un profumo adatto a un posto come questo, sarebbe sicuramente Poison di Dior. Non solo per il design del flacone che ricorda quelli usati dalle streghe delle favole per conservare le pozioni magiche - e che lo ha reso famoso - ma soprattutto per la fragranza intensa, notturna, torbida e misteriosa, adatta a chi vuole lasciare attorno a sé un alone di mistero - o ha qualcosa da nascondere!Questo effetto di oscurità e fascino è dato dall'essenza di tuberosa, nota predominante della fragranza, da sempre simbolo di una femminilità audace e provocante, ma anche misteriosa e di classe.
Io non porto Poison, lo trovo troppo forte per me, è una fragranza che o si ama o si odia, senza vie di mezzo. Adoro però annusarlo, e immergermi in una fantasia di cieli notturni stellati, scarpette perdute sulle scale e lo strascico del vestito che si lacera mentre fuggi via, nel buio, lasciando solo una scia di profumo alle tue spalle.ENGOne of the most misterious, creepy and interesting places in London is, without any doubt, The Last Tuesday Society. It's not easy to say it surely: it's basically a secret society built up by weird men which like to set up luxurious parties following the Eyes Wide Shut style, for every occasion - two of my boyfriend's work mates went to their Christmas Party last year and they told us about astonishing things, as fountains of chocolate and lots of naked girls all gold-covered walking in the salon - but it's also an organization which promotes talks and conferences about interesting topics, like philosophy, history, science and life. Last but not least, they got also a small wondrous spooky shop set in Mare St., far close where we live.Me and my boyfriend slapped into this shop last November, on a gloomy Sunday afternoon: we were supposed to meet a friend and the bus left us exactly in front of the cabinet, in this place which was extremely odd but at the same time fascinating. How you colud resist to a banner saying "Little Shop of Horrors"?We get in and, with a previous donation of 1 or 2 pounds - that's up to the guest generosity! - we could visit the tiny museum held in the basement. I took several pictures (you can find some of them in this post!) cause I couldn't really belive my eyes. As you can see, you can find basically everything!If I have to pick up the perfect perfume for this place, it would surely be Poison by Dior. I made this choice not only for the designed bottle, which reminds me those used by witches for keeping magic potions safe - and which made this fragrance so peculiar - but overall for the intense, nocturnal, misterious and dark scent, perfectly suitable for those who want to leave around them a mistery aura - or who got something to hide!This dark and fascinating effect is pursued by the huge tuberose scent, the main note in this fragrance, which has always been the symbol of a daring and provocative femininity, but still misterious and classy.I don't wear Poison, I find it a bit too much for me, it's the usual "love-or-hate" thing, without any middle point. But I love to smell it, and let myself dive in a romance made by nocturnal starry skies, shoes lost on the steps and the trawl of the dress which fall apart while you're running away, in the night, leaving only a trail of perfume at your back.
