Diciamocelo, la mia Cappuccetto è piccola e incazzosa. Una di quelle che mica si fanno prendere per il naso, che fanno tante domande al lupo solo per guadagnare tempo mentre il coniglio chiama il telefono azzurro; una che non si fa mica mangiare ma che, se mai dovesse accadere, darebbe tanti calci in pancia a quel povero animale da farlo vomitare dopo cinque minuti. La mia Cappuccetto non ha bisogno del cacciatore; al massimo potrebbe essere lei a consolare lui, e poi chiedergli di rimanere cena.
My little Riding Hood is small but has plenty of character. She’s definitely one you can’t trick, she would ask so many questions to the wolf only to keep him busy while a bunny calls the police; she’s not an easy prey, and even in the wolf’s stomach she would kick him so strong that he would vomit her out right away. My Riding Hood doesn’t need a hunter; in case he shows up she may be the one comforting him, and ask him to stay for dinner.
La mia Cappuccetto ha la frangetta, gli occhi scuri a punta e, chissà perché, la conosco bene. Capace di grandi slanci di generosità, ma anche di bizze e dispetti; quella che manipola il papà a piacere e sgrana gli occhioni quando le fa comodo; la creatura più tenera del mondo, che si addentrerebbe nel bosco senza fare una piega e cantando a squarciagola tutte le filastrocche che ha imparato all’asilo… la nonna sarebbe certo in buone mani.
My little Riding Hood has cute bangs, long dark eyes, and – guess what – I know her well. She can be really generous, naughty, lovely, and annoying; she can play papa around, open her big brown eyes when she wants something; she’s the most wonderful creature in this world, and she would wander in the wood singing out loud all the songs she learned at the play group… granny would definitely be in good hands.
Ve l’ho detto che dipingere mi aiuta a rilassarmi, per questo non ho preso pause in questi brutti giorni. E sono nati così i miei primi lavori di quest’anno già così intenso… perché le favole servono a insegnare ai bambini che là fuori ci sono anche dei lupi cattivi. Non dimentichiamocelo, ma non rinunciamo a esplorare il bosco per favore…
I told you that painting relaxes me, that’s why I didn’t stop over the past hard days. So here are my first artworks for this new year, yet so intense… fairy tales teach kids that there also bad wolves out there. Keep it mind, but please don’t give up exploring the wood…
