Connecting the Dots: The Pipeline and Fracking

Fracking forum in New York City

New York has become a battleground state for the natural gas extraction method called hyrdraulic fracturing — also known as fracking.

In addition to the extraordinary risk fracking poses to the environment, the drinking water supply and public health, it also requires new infrastructure like pipelines — which bring their own suite of issues.

To learn more about the connection between fracking and the proposed new Spectra pipeline, join the Sane Energy Project for a community potluck this Wednesday.

What: Connecting the Dots: The Pipeline and Fracking
When: 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 3
Where: The Brecht Forum, 451 West Street at Bank Street
