Un blog a impatto zero // A carbon-neutral blog

E’ da diverso tempo ormai che non scrivo con regolarità sul blog. Scarsità di tempo? Indubbiamente. Mancanza di ispirazione? Un po’. Blocco (o come l’ha chiamato qualcuno su Facebook “bloggo”) dello scrittore? Sì, anche. Insomma, per un motivo o per un altro, nonostante abbia del materiale su cui scrivere non mi esce nulla. Che è tutto dire

Oggi però, approfittando di qualche giorno a casa prima dell’inizio di un nuovo lavoro (sì, avete letto bene: sto per intraprendere una nuova avventura che mi porterà alla scoperta di una nuova città! La chiamano “la dotta, la grassa, la rossa”, vediamo se indovinate il nome

) ho ripreso qualche vecchio progetto in sospeso e mi sono decisa a scrivere. Così, di getto. Vediamo se come terapia d’urto può funzionare…

Tra le tante email che mi sono arrivate nei mesi scorsi (mesi, sì! avete letto bene un’altra volta…) ce n’era una che mi ha colpito in modo particolare. Primo perché avevo già sentito parlare di questa iniziativa e avevo letto qualcosa in rete; secondo perché l’opportunità di prendervi parte veniva offerta proprio a me, rendendomi onorata. Si tratta di un progetto ambientalista promosso da DoveConviene.it in collaborazione con I plant a tree che mira a compiere un’opera di riforestazione per la salvaguardia delle aree verdi del nostro pianeta coinvolgendo i blogger. Sapevate che un blog o un sito internet producono in media 3,6 Kg di anidride carbonica (CO₂) all’anno? E che un albero, invece, ne assorbe in media 5 Kg all’anno? Bene, aderendo all’iniziativa DoveConviene.it pianterà un albero per compensare le emissioni di CO₂ di Aury’s Passions rendendo il blog “carbon neutral”. In questo modo la produzione di anidride carbonica del blog che state leggendo sarà neutralizzata per i prossimi 50 anni (sperando che il blocco della blogger non continui così a lungo!

).
Al momento, il progetto di riforestazione attivo al quale prendo parte è dislocato a Göritz, nella regione tedesca di Saxony-Anhalt: qui, attraverso un’opera di forestazione, verranno piantati 27.000 alberi su un terreno di 3,4 ettari. Attualmente vengono piantate delle querce, per cui presto in Germania ci sarà una quercia che sarà la “guardiana” ecologica di Aury’s Passions contribuendo a migliorare l’aria che respiriamo. E poi Göritz potrebbe anche diventare meta di un futuro viaggio, che ne dite?

L’iniziativa mi pare importante e sono contenta di essere entrata a farne parte. DoveConviene.it è un’azienda leader in Italia che sta cercando di sensibilizzare alla nuova cultura dei volantini online per diminuire l’utilizzo – e di conseguenza lo spreco – di carta per scopi pubblicitari. I plant a tree, invece, è un’associazione ecologica no-profit tedesca impegnata in queste attività di ri-forestazione in varie regioni da diversi anni. Il progetto ha già riscosso grande successo tra siti e blog: negli ultimi 12 mesi sono stati piantati più di 1.400 alberi e ci si propone di piantarne altri 1.000 nei prossimi 6 mesi. Che aspettate, volete che anche il vostro blog sia “carbon neutral”? Partecipate all’iniziativa e potrete dire, come me, il mio blog è a impatto zero!

I haven’t been updating the blog for a while, quite a long while. Lack of time? Undoubtedly. Lack of inspiration? A bit. Writer’s block? Yes, also. It’s not that I do not have anything to write about, it’s rather it simply doesn’t come out. And that’s everything but good

Profiting of some days off before starting a new job (yes, you got it right: I’m ready to start a new professional adventure that will bring me discover a new city! It is commonly referred to as “the erudite, the fat, the red”, can you guess the name?) I took up some old pending projects and I started writing. Simply the way it comes. Do you think it can work as a shock therapy?  

Among several emails I received in the past months (months, yes, you got it right again…) one in particular caught my attention. First because I had already heard about the initiative and read something about it on the net; second because I was offered the opportunity of partaking to it and I felt really honoured. This is an environmental project developed by DoveConviene.it in collaboration with I plant a tree to promote a work of reforestation for the safety of our planet involving the bloggers. Could you imagine that a blog or a website produce an average of 3.6 Kg of carbon dioxide (CO₂) every year? From its part, a tree soaks up an average of 5 Kg per year. Well, on the basis of my adhesion to the initiative DoveConviene.it is going to plant a tree to compensate for the emission of CO₂ of Aury’s Passions, thus making the blog carbon neutral. This way, the production of carbon dioxide of the blog you’re reading will be neutralized for the next 50 years (let’s hope the blogger’s block won’t last that long )

For the time being, the project of reforestation I’ll be involved in is located in Göritz, in the German region of Saxony-Anhalt: here, a first-time forestation project will take place planting 27,000 trees on 3.4 hectares. They’re currently planting oaks and in Germany  there will be soon an oak acting as ecological guardian of Aury’s Passions, improving the air we breath. And Göritz could easily become the destination for a future trip, don’t you think?

The initiative looks very important and I am happy to join it. DoveConviene.it is a leader company in Italy trying to raise awareness on the new culture of online promotional flyers to diminish the use – and consequently the waste – of paper used on promotional grounds. I plant a tree is a German non-profit environmental association which has been engaged in re-forestation activities in different regions for several years. The project has already been very successful among websites and blogs: in the last 12 months more than 1,400 trees were planted and next goal is to get another 1,000 trees planted in 6 months.
