Valentino Couture Exhibition to Open in London

After the amazing exhibition held in Rome in 2007 for the 45^th anniversary of the Maison Valentino, a new one will open at Somerset House in Londonthis fall intitled Valentino: Master of Couture and it will focus exclusively on the Italian designer'shaute couture dresses.
The gallery will showcase over 130 of his opulent gowns from as early as the 1950s. The dresses have been worn by fashion icons such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Julia Roberts, and Gwyneth Paltrow. "Each of these designs have a beautiful story," Valentino said in a press release. "The atelier crafted each so diligently by hand, taking hours, sometimes days to complete. The details are incredibly intricate, though outside the runway shows and events, the dresses have rarely been seen, so to be able to showcase these designs at Somerset House, where they can be seen in great detail by the public, is very unique." La galleria esporrà al suo interno 130 abiti opulenti alcuni risalenti sin dagli anni 50. Gli abiti sono stati indossati da icone della moda come ackie Kennedy Onassis, Grace Kelly, Sophia Loren, Julia Roberts e Gwyneth Paltrow. “Ciascuno di questi capi ha una bella storia” ha dichiarato Valentino nel comunicato stampa. “Sono stati diligentemente fatti a mano nell’atelier per ore, alcune volte perfino giorni per completarli.
