Art and fashion: fashion is art!!!

Buongiorno a tutti!!!!
Visto che ieri era il primo maggio e non ce l ho fatta a pubblicare il post della rubrica del venerdì, ho deciso di farlo stamani, ecco quindi la rubrica sull'arte e la moda, ossia "ART AND FASHION: FASHION IS ART".
Stamani ho fatto una grande e piacevole scoperta, BHANU ATHAIYA, una grande costume designer indiana, la prima costumista indiana che ha vinto un premio Oscar.
Ha lavorato in oltre 100 film, a partire dagli anni'50, con registi come Guru Dutt, Yash Chopra, Raj Kapoor e registi internazionali come Conrad Rooks e Richard Attenborough.
Ha fatto il suo debutto come costumista nel mondo del cinema con il film C.I.D nel 1956, ha continuato con altri classici del regista Guru Dutt come Pyaasa (1959), Chaudhvin  Ka Chand (1960) e Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1964). Nella sua lunga carriera, ha vinto numerosi premi, come ho scritto sopra ha vinto anche il Premio Oscar per i migliori costumi, per il suo lavoro nel film del 1982, Gandhi, la prima indiana a vincere un Premio Oscar.
Inoltre, ha vinto anche due Premi Nazionali della pellicola, nel 1991 e nel 2002.
Nel 2010, Athaiya ha pubblicato il suo primo libro "The Art of Costume Design", pubblicato da Harper Collins e nel 2013 Athaiya ha presentato una copia del libro al Dalai Lama.
Sono felicissima di aver fatto questa scoperta, non conoscevo assolutamente questa costume designer indiana.
