Happy Sunday to everybody!!! Which is the best way to start than a rich and tasty breakfast??!! This’s a veeeery tasty, one of those things you have during journeys and any time you ask why you can’t have it every day at your home. The gaufres remember me many travels around Europe ( I love north Europe…but that’s another story)…the first memory’s about a trip in Brussels, not a travel, but a part of a tour around Europe with a friend some years ago. The gaufres are a typical street food and it’s hard to resist to their fantastic vanilla and caramel perfume which pervades when you're walking around. So that I was not able to resist when i read the recipe on Sigrid book...it was a must...all was in finding this pearled sugar...it looks like that you cannnot replace with anything...so after having searched for it in the most specialised shops I knew, the only replies I got were strange faces...luckily there is the web, I relied on Albert Adore...and afterwards the forwarder!!! Well, now once got the pearled sugar...i made my gaufres!!! And what a satisfaction...what a perfume!!! Having them only for breakfast is a pity...they are perfect with acerus syrup, vanilla ice-cream, with strawberries and milkcream (like during the Brussels trip) or simply with a storming sugar strem and some forest fruit. If you don't have the right grill to cook them, please do like me, ask for it around and you'll get it by a friend...exchaanging maybe some gaufres. These are dedicated to vale in the memory of that inter-air...and because I believe in this moment she really need something to keep her up and closing her eyes she could come back to Brussels and this marvellous trip.
