Secondo post sul Carnevale di Venezia (spero di non annoiarvi, ma ho fatto talmente tante foto e ne sono rimasta così affascinata che non potevo non condividere questa esperienza con voi)!
Da quanto ho capito in linea generale i costumi si dividono in due categorie: quelli di tipo “fantastico” (che ho pubblicato nel post di ieri) che, per quanto elaborati, non hanno nessun legame con la realtà e quelli che invece sono riproduzioni più o meno fantasiose dì abiti o maschere reali del 700/800, o di personaggi di quei periodi storici (conti , marchesi, ammiragli, ecc.).
Ecco questi ultimi, per me, sono stati i più interessanti da osservare: a differenza delle prime maschere che si limitavano a mettersi in pose più o meno studiate, questi interagivano tra loro e con le persone, andavano nei locali, passeggiavano per le stradine ecc, sempre con il modo di parlare ed atteggiarsi dell’epoca, porgendo rose, facendo inchini e baciamano e parlando con tutto il sussiego che richiedeva il personaggio: era incredibile vedere come riuscivano a trasformare l’atmosfera intorno a loro!^^Inoltre quei costumi sono semplicemente meravigliosi: la maggior parte è fatta a mano, ricchissimi di ricami e decorazioni, e si tratta di veri e propri abiti, non di maschere o costumi teatrali!Una signora gentilissima (anche lei in costume da dama del 700) con cui ho chiacchierato un po’ mi ha spiegato che sono rifatti sui modelli originali dell’epoca e richiedono un sacco di tempo per essere indossati, sono composti da strati su strati di gonne e sottogonne, e se li fanno fare apposta da delle sartorie specializzate, così come le scarpe ed i cappelli.Sinceramente sono rimasta sbalordita dal perfezionismo di quegli abiti (non avevo mai avuto la possibilità di vederli così da vicino); una volta sono stata alla fashion week di Haute Couture a Parigi, e vi assicuro che gi abiti che sfilano in passerella non hanno niente a che vedere con le rifiniture di questi (anche se in effetti uno di questi costumi costa quasi il doppio di un’abito da sera di Dior…)!
Here we are with the second post on my experience at the Carnival of Venice ( I hope not to bore you , but I've done it so many pics and I was so fascinated of it that I could not help to share this experience with you ) !
From what I understand, in general the costumes could be divided into two categories: the "fantasy" ones ( the ones you saw in yesterday's post ) that, even if they are very elaborate , have no connection with reality, and those that are more or less faithful reproductions of real clothing and masks of 700/800, or characters of those historical periods (counts , marquises , admirals , etc. . ) .
These, for me, were the most interesting to observe : unlike the first kind of costumes, that simply stand in poses more or less studied , they interact with each other and with people, you can found on the bars and restaurants, walking through the streets etc. , doing everything in the way people talked and behaved at that era , holding roses, bowing and kissing hands and talking with all the self-importance that the character required : it was amazing to see how they could transform the atmosphere around them ^ ^
In addition, those costumes are just wonderful : most of these is hand-made , rich in embroidery and decorations, and they are real dresses , not just masks or costumes !
A very kind lady (she also dressed as lady of 700) with whom I chatted a bit, explained me that they remade the original models of the time, and that require a lot of time to wear them since they are composed of layers upon layers of skirts and petticoats, and they were made on purpose by specialized tailors , as well as shoes and hats .
Honestly, I was amazed by the perfectionism of those dresses ( I’ve never had the chance to see them up so close)!
Once I was at the Haute Couture fashion week in Paris, and I can assure you that the gowns I saw on catwalks have nothing to do with the finish of these costumes (though in fact one of these costumes it costs almost twice of an evening Dior ...)!
