gorgeous oddity in Hackney - Broadway Market

Il nostro amico Tommaso abita ad Hackeny - un quartiere davvero carinissimo di Londra. L'atmosfera è molto intima e serena e fa pensare alla poliedricità di questa strana città. Per certi aspetti, la trovo infatti molto frammentata e insieme (o meglio, e per questo) molto varia. E' difficile localizzare un luogo solo che possa essere emblematicamente "Londra" senza che sia molto molto limitante. Non è così (a mio avviso) per Parigi, per esempio.
Our friend Tommaso lives in Hackeny - a really cute neighborhood of London. The atmosphere is very intimate and serene, and it suggests the versatility of this strange city. In some ways, I find it very fragmented, and for that matter, very varied. It's not easy to find one singular place that can symbolize wholly "London" without being very very limiting. It's not (in my opinion) the same in Paris, for example.

Ad Hackney, tra le altre cose, non poteva mancare il mercatino d'obbligo :) . Non solo, ma proprio in Broadway Market, c'è forse quello che è stato il mio preferito. Ho infatti già pubblicato un sacco di foto riferite a questo mercatino. Mi perdonerete se le ripropongo anche qui per amor d'ordine!

At Hackney, among other things, the market couldn't miss :). Not only that, but even at Broadway Market, there is perhaps what has been my favorite market. In fact I have already published a lot of pictures that was picked at this market. Forgive me if I propose them again here for the sake of order!

 Si capisce allora che si tratta di un quartiere vivace, giovane, pieno di arte di strada ecc.
Anche le bancarelle rispecchiano questo, e si inseriscono bene anche nei negozi della via (qui li trovate elencati con cura).
C'è una bancarella che vende pendenti assurdi. Io adoro le collane con pendenti folli e credo che Londra sia il posto migliore per trovarne uno. Farò un post dove vi mostrerò la mia piccola collezione.
Dico solo che a questa bancarella ho comprato (sempre sotto forma di ciondolo) un pezzo degli scacchi (la regina), un cucchiaio per la sorella di Giacomo e una serratura (sì, una serratura!) per mia sorella. Tutti e tre sono fantastici!
C'erano anche (di notevole): un rocchetto in stile vintage con tanto di filo arrotolato, varie vecchie chiavi, altri pezzi degli scacchi (ovviamente ho preso il più grande :P), pezzi di meccanismi degli orologi.
Mi fanno impazzire!

You can see that it is a lively, young, full of street art and so on, district.
Even the stalls reflect this aspect, and  the high street stores fit well in it (they are listed here with care).
There is a stall that sells absurd pendants. I love the necklaces with crazy pendants and I think that London is the best place to find one of them. I will do a post where I will show you my small collection of them.
I just say that I bought at this stand (always in the form of pendant) a chess piece (the queen), a little spoon to Giacomo's sister, and a lock (yes, a lock!) to my sister. All three are fantastic!
There were also (remarkable): a vintage-style reel complete with coiled wire, various old keys, other chess pieces (of course I have taken the biggest :P), pieces of mechanisms of clocks.
They make me crazy!

E' bella anche la musica di strada che sempre accompagna i mercatini (inoltre le nostre erano tutte giornate strepitose). La ragazza qui sopra in foto aveva una voce notevole. Cantavano Hit the Road Jack ;) .
The street music that always accompanies the markets is vey good too (in addiction the wether inuring our days were always amazing). The girl above in the picture had a outstanding voice. She was singing Hit the Road Jack ;).

 Come vi ho già scritto, il cibo dei mercatini riserva buone sorprese. Quello di Broadway Market in particolare. Hanno infatti un livello di qualità che Liverpool Street non ha affatto. I cupcakes di Violet hanno questo aspetto meraviglioso e Tommaso li ha consigliati caldamente (anche il sito è delizioso). Io ho mangiato il famoso pie e un pretzel (amo i pretzel) ad un banco di panetteria decisamente interessante.
Insomma, è molto difficile che lasciate il mercato affamati.

As I wrote before, markets' food reserves good surprises. Broadway Market in particular does it. Here I found a quality level that Liverpool Street has not at all. Have a look at this marvelous Violet's cupcakes that Tommaso strongly recommended (the website too is delicious). I ate the famous pie and a pretzel (I love pretzels) to a bank of baker's really interesting.
In short, it is very difficult to leave the market keeping be hungry.

Da non perdere è ARTWORDS, una libreria dedicata ad arte, design, fotografia, grafica e quant'altro davvero fornita, ben allestita e di ottimo gusto. Si trova al numero 20-22, ma a Londra ce n'è una anche al 69 di Rvington Street. 
Do not miss ARTWORDS, a bookshop dedicated to art, design, photography, graphics act, very well prepared and tasteful. It is located at 20-22, but in London there is another one at 69 Rvington Street.

E con questo post la serie su Londra volge verso il termine. Farò ancora un post su qualche pub degno di nota (d'altronde manca ancora quello sui ristoranti serifioti!), ma magari intervallerò un po'.
