Greek myth of the three Graces in the Italian painting and the Ugo Foscolo's poem

I have told about the art work Le tre Grazie made by Antonio Canova, a genius of the Italian sculpture. Here the photo of the sculpture.

I’m talking about Ugo Foscolo. He began to write this carme in 1803 but in the 1827 – the year of the dead of the writer- the poem was not finished.Foscolo, as Canova, described the Greek myth. These three girls bring the civilization to the rough humanityThis was the introduction of the poem
« Alle Grazie immortali / le tre di Citerea figlie gemelle / è sacro il tempio, e son d'Amor sorelle; / nate il dì che a' mortali / beltà ingegno virtù concesse Giove, / onde perpetue sempre e sempre nuove / le tre doti celesti / e più lodate e più modeste ognora / le Dee serbino al mondo. Entra ed adora»Just to summarize: “This poem is dedicated to the immortal Grazie, Citera’s daughters and Amore’s sisters. They were born the day that Jupiter decided to give beauty, intelligence and virtuosity to the humanity. They are very precious for all the world”Other many artists had portrayed the three Grazie. Potete leggere il mio post, questo il linkMentre Canova stava creando questa splendida scultura , un famoso scrittore italiano volle dedicare al suo operato un  carmein realtà mai finito . Sto parlando di Ugo Foscolo . Egli cominciò a scrivere questo carme nel 1803 ma nel 1827 - l'anno della morte dello scrittore - la poesia non era finito .Foscolo , come Canova , descrisse  il mito greco .
