(ITA) Il primo e unico album degli Idaho in formazione a due (Jeff Martin e John Berry) prende evidentemente ispirazione dalle litanie diradate e marziali dei Codeine, sulle quali Martin recita i suoi salmi crepuscolari con voce cupa e sommessa, un incrocio tra Lou Reed e Nick Cave. Il risultato sono ballate tragiche e desolate più affini al cantautorato tetro di Red House Painters e American Music Club (non a caso loro concittadini) che allo slowcore figlio degli Slint.(ENG) The first and only album of Idaho in a duo formation (Jeff Martin and John Berry) obviously takes inspiration from the martial and thinned litanies of Codeine, on which Martin tells his twilight psalms with hollow and small voice, a mix between Lou Reed and Nick Cave. The result are tragic and desolate ballads more similar to the bleak songwriting of Red House Painters and American Music Club (in fact their fellow citizens) than to Slint-ian slowcore.
