Q: Daniele, tell us about your path in photographic art: how did you start?A: I started taking pictures when I was a kid, and with time this passion has gained more and more space in my life; initially I was taking pictures with consumer analog machines and finally, with sacrifices, I purchased an analog SLR which opened me the door to artistic expressive areas I never approached to before.Then, with advent of digital SLR photography underwent a revolution which made me see a much more fascinating world, so that is one of the professional fields that mostly involves me in my career.
Has there been someone that introduce you to photographic art?Yes, it has. My family, since I was a kid, always helped me to understand the importance, both artistic and personal of a beautiful photo.Have you followed a specific schooling path that brought you to your actual position?
What is a picture for you?A photo is the expression of an idea I have in that moment of the world that sorrounds me.What is the practical process, according to you, that can make you capture a 'beautiful photo'? For 'beautiful photo' I mean a picture that can inspire people, a picture whose aesthetic is shared by many people. I do not have a specific practical process for achieving a 'beautiful photo'. I think that mental process of each photographers should start from the idea he/she wants to express.Focusing on the creative process for the composition and work on details having always in mind the vision of the message the picture should convey.Who are your favourite subjects when you approach to your job?I prefer portraits, even if the job requires me to expand in all areas of photography. Do you a favourite photographer whose work leaves you ecstatic?David Armstrong, Larry Clark, Jan Saudek, and although they are really different, each of their work left me something indelible in my personal journey.What is your advice to people who wants to become photographers?My advice is to begin as soon as possible, and to photograph trying to communicate the personal vision of the world.What working projects you would like to undertake in your future?I'd like to challenge myself with feature film whose script has already been written.Photos and fashion. What kind of approach is it?Fashion has the absolute need to communicate through photography. So there is a really strong link.
In general, fashion, especially high fashion, tries to give to collections a more artistic allure, with the intent to alienate their customers to a not-commercial dimension.Over time it has built a strong admixture of artistic forms in which it is addreesed to strenghten its artistic credibility, and therefore also with photography, at the point that fashion photography is a photographic genre.
Classical question for who is interviewed by me: what do you think of fashion?Fashion is a form of expression of the individuality of the masses, where the individual is emptied of its own identity in favor of a collective individuality and where he/she actively participates in deciding what to wear every day and communicating to others his own aesthetic vision of oneself.§

D: Daniele, raccontaci il tuo percorso nell'arte della fotografia: come hai iniziato?A: Ho iniziato a fotografare sin da piccolo, e con il tempo questa passione ha conquistato uno spazio sempre maggiore nella mia vita, inizialmente fotografavo con macchine consumer analogiche, poi finalmente con tanti sacrifici riuscì ad acquistare una reflex analogica, che mi aprì le porte verso spazi espressivi prima difficilmente raggiungibili. Poi con l'arrivo delle reflex digitali la fotografia subì una vera rivoluzione, che mi rese questo mondo ancor più affascinante, tanto che è uno degli ambiti professionali che maggiormente mi coinvolge nel mio percorso professionale.C'è stato qualcuno che ti ha fatto conoscere la fotografia?Si. La mia famiglia sin da piccolo mi ha sempre aiutato a capire l'importanza sia artistica, che personale di una bella foto.Hai seguito una carriera formativa specifica per arrivare alla posizione attuale?Il mio percorso formativo si orienta più verso il graphic design, che pur non essendo strettamente legato alla fotografia rientra nella categoria delle arti visive. Ho comunque fatto diversi corsi di specializzazione e workshop fotografici.Cosa esprime per te una foto?Una foto è l'espressione dell'idea che ho di quell'istante del mondo che mi circonda.Qual'è il processo pratico, secondo te, per catturare una foto 'bella'? E per 'bella' intendo una foto che possa inspirare le persone, una foto la cui estetica è condivisa dal maggior numero di persone.Non ho un processo pratico specifico per il raggiungimento del bello condiviso. Penso che il processo mentale di ogni fotografo debba partire dall'idea che vuole esprimere in quella foto.Focalizzare il processo creativo sulla composizione e lavorare sui dettagli avendo sempre chiara la visione del messaggio che la foto deve trasmettere.Che soggetti preferisci fotografare?Preferisco i ritratti, anche se poi il lavoro mi impone di spaziare in tutti gli ambiti della fotografia.Hai un fotografo preferito il cui lavoro ti lascia estasiato?David Armstrong, Larry Clark, Jan Saudek, seppur nella loro diversità, ciascuno nei suoi lavori mi hanno lasciato qualcosa di indelebile nel mio percorso personale.Cosa consigli a chi vuole intraprendere il lavoro di fotografo? Di iniziare il prima possibile, e di fotografare cercando di comunicare la propria personale visione del mondo.Che progetti lavorativi vorresti intraprendere in futuro?Mi piacerebbe mettermi alla prova con un lungometraggio mio di cui ho già la sceneggiatura.La fotografia e la moda. Che approccio è?La moda ha assoluto bisogno di comunicare tramite la fotografia. Quindi c'è un legame molto forte. In generale la moda, soprattutto l'alta moda cerca di dare alle proprie collezioni un allure di maggiore respiro artistico, con l'intento di allontanare i propri clienti da una dimensione che sia troppo strettamente commerciale. Nel tempo ha costruito un'ottima commistione con le forme artistiche a cui si è rivolta per rafforzare la propria credibilità artistica, e quindi anche con la fotografia. Al punto che la fashion photography è un genere fotografico.Domanda classica per chiunque viene intervistato da me: cosa pensi della moda?La moda è una forma espressiva dell'individualità delle masse, in cui l'individuo non si svuota della propria identità a favore di un individualità collettiva, ma vi partecipa attivamente decidendo cosa indossare giorno per giorno e comunicando agli altri la propria visione estetica di se stessi.
