Interviews: A day with... Le 21ème

E' un onore per me aver avuto l'occasione di fare questa intervista ad uno dei più talentuosi cacciatori di stile, il fotografo e blogger Adam Katz Sinding, meglio noto come "Le 21ème" che da qualche tempo irrompe negli ambienti più esclusivi ed espressivi della moda, ma non solo, immortalando dettagli e personaggi mozzafiato, facendo di loro delle vere e proprie opere d'arte.
Di seguito l'intervista ad un personaggio creativo e geniale e a tratti schivo, di poche (ma assolutamente efficaci) parole.

-Chi è Adam Katz Sinding?
-Sono nato a San Francisco e cresciuto a Tacoma. Ho vissuto a Seattle e ora vivo a New York (dal 31 dicembre 2010).
Scatto foto di persone per strada. Questo è tutto.
Cosa ha ispirato le 21eme? L'assenza d'ispirazione a Seattle, sono andato via per trovare qualcosa di più.
Perchè dici: "Questo non è uno streestyle blog"?

Street Style è così generico... E 'uno sport consumatore. Non è quello che voglio fare. Non voglio postare foto e dire: "Hey, guardate! Andate a comprare questo!"Voglio dire: "Wow, guarda cosa è successo oggi!"Chi è la tua icona di stile?Hedi Slimane? Non ne sono molto sicuro. Credo per lo più i miei amici ... nessuno di "importante" nel grande schema, ma importante per me.La tua città preferita?.Parigi o Copenaghen.Il tuo film?
Life Aquatic. Senza dubbio.La tua canzone?Dear Prudence.
Cosa pensi del tuo collega Scott Schuman?Non è un mio collega. E 'un approccio diverso. Lui fa una cosa, io ne faccio un' altra. Certo, conosco i suoi lavori e dò un'occhiata periodicamente, solo per vedere cosa sta succedendo, ma il suo gusto è così diverso dal mio...Che stile preferisci?Tutto nero. Oppure focalizzato sui dettagli, ma non appariscente.

Delle pinces, degli accessori e minuterie metalliche interessanti, cuciture alla francese, la lunghezza di gamba di un pantalone, qualsiasi cosa che non salti all'occhio immediatamente, ma di cui la persona che le indossa conosca potenzialità e sfumature che definiscono il capo.
Ami il vintage e l'antiquariato? Se si, perchè?
Si , ma non posso acquistarli per me. Ho un "problema" e mi piace spendere troppi soldi.

Pensi che solo le persone belle possano essere anche fotogeniche?Assolutamente no. Ognuno è fotogenico. Non esiste uno standard. Forse qualcuno che è molto salute, potrebbe non essere così fotogenico, ma ancora non ne ho visto nessuno . L'essenziale e' essere a proprio agio con se stessi, la foto lo dimostrera'.Quali sono i tuoi soggetti preferiti?Uomini o donne?Donne. Sono infinitamente eleganti.Qual'è la miglior foto che tu abbia mai scattato?Non posso rispondere a questa domanda. Sono sicuro di non averla ancora fatta. Penso di fare meglio ogni stagione

Who is Adam Katz Sinding?I was born in San Francisco and raised in Tacoma. Lived in Seattle, and now New York (since Dec 31, 2010.) I take photos of people on the street. That's all.Who or what inspired le 21eme?The lack of inspiration in Seattle. I went out and tried to find more.Why you say: "This is not a streetstyle blog"?Street Style is so generic. It's a consumer sport. It's not what I want to do. I don't want to post photos and say "Hey look everyone! Go buy this!" I want to say "Wow, look what happened on today!"Who is your style icon?Hedi Slimane? I'm not every sure anymore. I think mostly my friends... no one "important" in the grand scheme, but important to me....your favourite city? :)Paris of CPH..... movie?Life Aquatic. Without a doubt.... song?Dear Prudence.What you think of your colleague Scott Schuman?He's not my colleague. It's a different approach. He's doing one thing, I'm doing another. Of course I know his work, and I check it every few months, just to see what's happening, but his taste is so different from mine.What style do you prefer?All black. Or...detail focused. Not over the top. Darts, interesting hardware, french seams, long inseams, anything that is hard to notice, but the person wearing it knows the nuances.Do you love vintage and antique things? If so, why?I do, but I can't shop for it for myself. I have a "problem" and I like to spend too much money.Do you think only the beautiful people are photogenic?ABSOLUTELY not. Everyone is photogenic. There is no standard. Perhaps someone who is very unhealthy, may not be AS photogenic, but they still put forward their face. You just need to be comfortable with yourself, the photo will show that.What are your favorite subjects, men or women?Women. They are endlessly elegant. what is the best photo you've ever done?I can't answer that. I'm sure I haven't taken it yet. I get better every season I think, and every season I look back on my old work and laugh. What's yours? It's probably the same as mine!
