(english version below the italian text)Di solito e' la terza domanda che mi fanno, dopo "Come stai?" e "Come sta la Viatrix?": "E il Senator dov'e'?"Il suo stato non e' psicofisico ma geografico, come la Cometa di Halley. E il mio spesso e' quello dell'astronoma in attesa del passaggio: quando e' lontano monitorizzo il percorso, quando si avvicina mi preparo (ovvero preparo me stessa, la bimba, la casa e il companatico) e quando sta per arrivare sono pronta per sfruttare al meglio il momento.Le cose belle o allegre o interessanti successe o pensate mentre era via.Le cose serie/tristi delle quali ritengo necessario parlargli. (E archiviare mentalmente le altre per le quali nessuno dei due puo' farci niente)Le cose pratiche sulle quali voglio avere il suo parere.Il difficile e' mantenere quest'ordine mentre lui mi travolge di racconti di quel che ha fattovistoincontrato mentre era in giro per il mondo: se crollo di sonno dopo avergli chiesto cosa ne pensa di una nuova lampada e prima di dirgli quale lampo di genio filosofico  mi ha colto sulla via del supermercato, poi mi tocca aspettare il prossimo giro!
It is usually the third question people ask me after "How are you?" and "How's Viatrix?": "Where is the Senator ?"His status is not mental and physical but geographical,  like the Halley's Comet And my one is often that of the astronomer waiting for the comet's passage: when it's away I monitor the path, as it approaches I prepare myself (which means I prepare myself, the baby, the home and the dinner) and when it's finally arriving, I am ready to take full advantage of the moment
Good or cheerful or interesting things happened or thought while he was away
Serious or sad things  which I think I should really talk to him about. (While segregating away from my head other things no one can do anything about)
Practical things on which I want to have his opinion
The difficult task is to maintain this order while he overwhelms me with tales of what he did seen met tried  while around the world: if I fall sleep after asking him what he thinks about a new lamp and before telling him about the flash of philosophical  genius that hit me on my way back from the supermarket, then I have to wait for the next tine he is round!
