E' questo il titolo della mostra in esposizione dal 13 ottobre 2011 all'8 gennaio 2012 nel centro commerciale francese l'Espace La Vallee Village alle porte di Parigi, dove l'umiltà si mescola alla moda, anzi..ne diventa regina. Autrice delle stampe fotografiche è Iris De La Roca, giovane fotografa di 25 anni che percepisce la fotografia come espressione del suo impegno personale nella comunità, e inserisce il suo lavoro nel cuore dell'attualità in una luce ottimista e poetica. Appassionata di Brasile, vive parte dell'anno in una favela di Rio de Janeiro, dove lavora come volontaria non pagata presso l'associazione benefica "Swap a weapon for a paintbrush". Attraverso questo gioco volevo che a gettassero via le loro inibizioni e diventassero totalmente liberi". Iris said: “Through role play, I wanted them to have fun, to become children, for them to believe that they are beautiful and strong stars. Through this game I wanted them to cast away their inhibitions and become totally free” Oltre alla mostra, verrà prodotta una rivista che Iris Della Roca ha creato insieme ai bambini di Rocinha, che conterrà bozze dei bambini e foto, così come articoli da parte dei contribuenti nel mondo della moda e della fotografia.
La rivista sarà venduta (€ 2) al centro di accoglienza nel villaggio di La Vallée,nonchè al centro commerciale dove si terrà la mostra. Tutti i proventi delle vendite saranno devolute interamente all'associazione "Swap a weapon for a paintbrush".

Penso che sia sicuramente una iniziativa forte su un tema abbastanza forte, ma sottovalutato dallo scenario mondiale. Quello che traspare dalle foto è che i bimbi si sono divertiti così tanto ad essere delle stelle..ottimo lavoro Iris!!
