Annunciate finalmente le nomination agli Oscar 2011. Nessun italiano in gara per miglior film straniero, ma questo lo si sapeva già, quando, pochi giorni fa, La Prima cosa bella di Virzì è stato ufficialmente (e giustamente) escluso dalla lista per i nominati.
Mentre a rappresentare il “bel paese” sarà Antonella Cannarozzi, la bravissima costumista di Io sono l’amore il film di Luca Guadagnino. A fare il pieno di nomination è stato The King’s Speech (Il discorso del Re) di Tom Hooper che ne raccoglie ben dodici. Seguono The Social Network di David Fincher e Inception di Christopher Nolan con otto a testa.
Intanto in un’intervista al Entertainment Weekly James Cameron già oscar alla regia e miglior film per Titanic annuncia due sequel per il suo film campione d’incassi Avatar. Il regista dichiara che girerà le due pellicole insieme, ma che usciranno a distanza di un anno l’una dall’altra, rispettivamente 2014 e 2015.
Uno dei due episodi sarà ambientato sott’acqua, sotto gli oceani di Pandora, un habitat caro al regista che aveva già girato The Abyss e fatto da produttore ad un film in uscita in queste settimane Sanctum entrambi ambientati negli abissi marini. In questo momento Cameron dice di essere in fase di sceneggiatura… vista quella di Avatar speriamo che almeno superi la morale di un cartoon disney…
