Painting of the week: Maternal admiration

In un momento così importante della mia vita, non potevo che scegliere un dipinto che esaltasse la grandezza del sentimento materno. E uno degli autori che meglio può rappresentarlo è William Adolphe Bouguereau, pittore accademico francese di orignini inglesi. Il suo percorso, lungo e ricco di dettagli interessanti, attraversa l'amore per la natura, per i classici, la mitologia e per le figure religiose, che egli studiò attentamente attraverso la Bibbia. Per conoscere perfettamente e perfezionare la figura umana, come molti eccelsi pittori frequentò dei corsi di anatomia, che gli valsero a realizzare i capolavori che oggi siamo in grado di ammirare.
La maternità in particolare è un tema che Bouguereau affronta ripetute volte con estrema attenzione.
La dolcezza con cui la madre accoglie il bimbo nel grembo, il suo piglio sicuro e naturale, sono solo alcuni degli elementi che impressionano nei sui dipinti. L'incredibile candore che avvolge madre e figlio, la luce che essi emanano li rende un tutt'uno oltre che quasi ultraterreni, la perfezione e semplicità di questo amore è meravigliosamente espressa dalle movenze morbide e dagli abiti nivei e raffinati. Le manine del pargolo sembrano riprodurre in miniatura quelle della genitrice, mentre esse si intrecciano in un tenero gesto di condivisione vitale.
In such important moment of my life, I couldn't choose a painting that would befit the grandeur of maternal feeling. And one of the authors who can best represent it is William Adolphe Bouguereau, a French Academic painter of British origins. His path is long and full of interesting details, through the love of nature, for the classics, mythology and religious figures, which he carefully studied through the Bible. To perfectly know the human figure, as many exalted painters he attended anatomy courses, which earned him realize the masterpieces that we can admire today.
Motherhood in particular is an issue that faces Bouguereau repeatedly with extreme care.
The sweetness with which the mother receives the baby in the womb, her confident and natural manner, are just some of the elements that impress in the paintings. The incredible whiteness that surrounds the mother and child, the light they give off makes them a whole as well as almost otherworldly, perfection and simplicity of this love is beautifully expressed by the movements from the clothes soft and snowy and refined. The hands of the infant seem to reproduce in miniature those of her parent, while they are intertwined in a tender gesture of sharing vital.
