Ciao Fanciulle!

Oggi ho una sorpresa speciale…inizia infatti una serie (spero!) di interviste ad alcuni ex concorrenti di Project Runway ITALIA :D Non nascondo un po’ di emozione per questo post: è la prima volta che intervisto qualcuno e in più il personaggio che vi sto per presentare oltre a non passare inosservato ha anche un grandissimo talento.

Sto parlando dell’esplosivo (!!!!) ROCCO GALLUCCIO. 26 anni (la mia età :p), Casertano di nascita e di spirito, stilista per vocazione. Diretto, senza peli sulla lingua, irriverente ma, dopo il primo impatto, simpaticissimo. Appassionato di moda fin da piccolo e trasportato dalla vena artistica che aleggiava in famiglia, si laurea in Disegno Industriale per la Moda all’università di Aversa (Napoli) e si trasferisce prima a Milano, dove inizia a lavorare per brand nazionali e internazionali, poi a Bali, in Indonesia. Tornato a Milano, crea la sua linea di abbigliamento, ALCOOLIQUE, che si presenta come un viaggio attraverso la scoperta dell’universo femminile, le emozioni, i sentimenti, i limiti, lasciando comunque un velo di mistero. Un gioco sensuale, un po’ provocatorio, di colori, texture e tessuti; una ricerca quotidiana di materiali, design e ispirazioni.

Com’è nata la passione per la moda?
È praticamente cresciuta con me. Fin da bambino guardavo le riviste di mia madre e le foto che faceva mio zio (fotografo, n.d.r.), quindi ho sempre saputo che in qualche modo questa sarebbe stata la mia strada!

Hai viaggiato tanto e hai anche vissuto all’estero. Viaggiare significa scoprire luoghi, culture, persone sempre nuovi e completamente diversi gli uni dagli altri. Come ha influenzato la tua crescita personale e professionale?
Mi ha cambiato molto. Vedere nuove persone, culture e modi di vivere estremamente diversi da noi fa crescere, e aiuta a prendere il meglio da ogni cosa per poi mixarlo in qualcosa di nuovo. Questo vale ovviamente sia per il lavoro sia per la mia crescita personale.

Hai anche un tuo progetto, Alcoolique, giusto?
Certo, ormai da qualche anno e sto avendo, fortunatamente, molte soddisfazioni…spero di avere la possibilità di poter andare avanti e crescere sempre di più.

Si può dire che Project Runway Italia sia stata a livello professionale la tua esperienza più importante. Tu, Marco (Taranto), Giorgia (Fiore), Elena (Pignata) e Salvo (Presti) avete costruito un bel rapporto di amicizia. Senz’altro sarai anche cresciuto come artista. Ti va di parlarmene?
Io penso che in generale sia stata un’esperienza di vita molto importante. Convivere è diverso dal viaggiare. Si vive in un micromondo con una nuova famiglia, e nel bene e nel male ci sono solo loro. Sono stato fortunato a trovare dei compagni che posso chiamare amici. Ci sentiamo tutti i giorni e cerchiamo di vederci il più possibile, perché al di là di quello che si è visto in tv abbiamo passato tantissimi bei momenti insieme, e speriamo di costruirne sempre di nuovi!

Dai..ora possiamo passare alle critiche. Qualche battutina alla Rocco? ;)
Eheheh, così a bruciapelo? Dovresti istigarmi un po’ di più! Poi, chi mi conosce sa che sono di base molto ironico e ancora di più autoironico. Le stesse battute che faccio agli altri le faccio a me stesso!

Da cosa o chi trai ispirazione per la creazione dei tuoi capi? Chi sono le tue muse?
L’ispirazione può partire da tutto: una foto, un film, una canzone… Ma se dovessi parlare di muse, parlerei sicuramente delle due donne della mia vita, mia madre e mia nonna.

Un appunto: perché la donna dev’essere per te scoperta, a volte anche troppo? La bellezza si può valorizzare anche in altri modi. Perché il “nudo” dovrebbe avere un valore aggiunto?
Beh, ovviamente nel programma cercavo di fare capi forti, sfacciati e provocatori…da show. Più che altro, guardando la mia collezione, si capisce che per quanto possa essere sexy, la mia donna non è sempre poi così nuda. Sicuramente ci sono tanti modi per valorizzare la bellezza, ma io prediligo le donne che si sentono belle e non hanno paura di scoprirsi. Non parlo di perfezione fisica, ma di sicurezza. Ecco: le donne sicure di sé mi affascinano tantissimo.

Parlami della tua ultima collezione per il prossimo autunno/inverno 2014-15 (come testimonial è stata scelta la bellissima Katja Stajnbauer, la modella che, insieme a Marco Taranto, ha vinto la prima edizione di Project Runway Italia)
Parte tutto dalle due Regine Giovanna di Napoli (Giovanna I e Giovanna II D’Angiò, regine di Napoli tra la seconda metà del 300 e la prima del 400, n.d.r.), una saggia e calma, l’altra matta e sessuomane. Prendendo questi aspetti molto diversi ho concentrato sui capi i mix di stampe, tessuti e lunghezze. Ci sarebbe tanto da dire, ma secondo me è sempre meglio vedere le immagini, che dicono più di qualsiasi parola, perché ognuno di noi le interpreta come meglio crede.

Ammetto che all’inizio non mi andavi molto a genio, anzi, mi stavi proprio antipatico. “Ma chi si crede di essere??” mi dicevo. Poi, da quella tua risposta su Twitter a una mia critica, mi sono ricreduta. In realtà sei simpatico e sportivo, uno che semplicemente ha pelo sullo stomaco e non si fa troppi problemi. Non sono la sola che è passata da non sopportati ad apprezzarti. L’ho constatato io e me l’hai detto tu stesso. Secondo te perché la gente non ti capisce subito fino in fondo?
Mah…ovviamente sono stati fatti dei tagli alle riprese, non potevano andare in onda 24 ore di sartoria o di casa. Molte erano battute e dopo partivano le risate, altre no…ma sai, non è proprio facile vivere con estranei completamente diversi da te e sfido tutti quelli che mi hanno criticato a farlo. Vorrei proprio vedere se con i loro compagni, coinquilini, parenti sono sempre tutti buoni e calmi. Poi, diciamocelo, per quanto tutti professino sincerità, era proprio la mia onestà a non andare bene.

Ultima domanda. La moda sa essere spietata, proprio come dice Eva (Herzigova): un giorno sei IN e il giorno dopo sei OUT. Inoltre, ci sono un sacco di falsi amici e false opportunità. Cosa consigli a chi vuole entrare a far parte di questo mondo?
Consiglio a tutti di non smettere mai di imparare e “studiare”, di non mollare mai, ma non solo nella moda. Chiunque abbia un sogno deve andare fino in fondo, non fermarsi. Ci saranno tantissimi ostacoli, ma se qualcuno ci crede sul serio, prima o poi si realizza…e se lo dico io che non sono proprio un sognatore…magari potrebbe essere vero =)

Hello Girls!

Today I’ve a special surprise for you…a series (I hope!) of interviews to some ex competitors of Project Runway ITALIA :D I tell you I’m a bit excited for this post: it’s the first time that I interview someone and the person I’m gonna to introduce you is not unnoticed and have a great talent.

I’m talking about the bombshell (!!!!) ROCCO GALLUCCIO. He’s 26 (my age :p), born in Caserta (near Naples), stylist as vocation. Sincere and irreverent but, after the first impression, very fun. Fashion lover since he was a boy, he let the artistic soul of the family influenced him. He took a bachelor degree in Industrial Design for Fashion at the university of Aversa (Naples) and moved firstly to Milan, where he started working for national and international firms, then to Bali, Indonesia. He came back to Milan starting his own brand, ALCOOLIQUE, which is like a travel discovering the female universe, with emotions, feelings, limits and a bit of mistery. Playing in a sexy and provocatory way, with colors, textures and fabrics; a daily research on materials, design and inspirations.

How is born your love for fashion?
It has grown inside me. Since when I was a boy I watched my mother’s magazines and the photos my uncle made (photographer, editor’s note), so I’ve ever known that, in some way, it would be my future!

You travelled a lot and also you lived abroad. Travelling means to discover new places, cultures, people, very different from us. How has this influenced your personal and professional grow?
It changed me a lot. Meeting new people, seeing completely different cultures and ways to live makes you grow and help you to take the best from everything and mix it in something new. Obviously this is for my job and my personal life.

You have also a project, Alcoolique, isn’t it?
Yes, from some years. Fortunately I have a lot of satisfaction. Hope to have the possibility going on and grow more and more.

Project Runway has been your more important professional experience. You, Marco (Taranto), Giorgia (Fiore), Elena (Pignata) and Salvo (Presti) have built a beautiful friendship. You have grown as an artist too. Would you tell me about it?
I think that it has been a very important experience. Living together is different from travelling. You live in a micro-world with a new family, in good and bad. I’ve been lucky to have found mates which I can consider friends. We keep in touch everyday and try to meet each other the more possible as we can. Besides that you could see on tv, we spent so many beautiful moments together and hope to build new ones!

So, let’s start critiques. Any Rocco’s joke? ;)
Hehehe, now? You’d have to provoke me more! Then, who knows me is aware of my being ironic and even more autoironic. I make jokes to other people which I make to myself too!

What or who do you take inspiration from? Who are your muses?
Inspiration could arise from everything: a picture, a song…But, talking about muses, I certainly think about the two women of my life, mom and grandma.

Objection: why women have to be bare, sometimes too much? Beauty can exhist also in other ways. Why “naked” is a value added?
Well, obviously during the program I created provoking clothes, for the show. Looking at my collection you can see that, as how much sexy she could be, my woman is not always so naked. Sure, there are many ways for giving value to beauty, but I prefer women who feel beautiful and have no fear to undress themselves. I’m not talking about physical beauty, but self-confidence. Here: self-confident women fascinate me so much.

Describe me your last a/w 2014 collection (The beautiful Katja Stajnbauer, the model who, together with Marco Taranto won Project Runway Italia, as testimonial).
It started from the two Joannas Queens of Naples (Joanna I and Joanna II D’Angiò, Queens of Naples from the second part of 1300 to the first of 1400), one good and calm and the other crazy and sex addicted. I took these different ideas and I created a mix of patterns, fabrics and lengths. There are a lot of things which I could say, but I think it’s better seeing images, which give more than words, as everyone interpret them as he wish.

I have to admit that at the beginning I couldn’t suffer you. “Who he think he is?” I said. Then, from that answer on Twitter to my critic, I changed my mind. Actually, you are fun and play long, but you are strong. I’m not the only one who changed idea about you. In your opinion, why people don’t immediately understand you?
Boeuf…t’s obvious that some scenes have been cutted, as 24 hours on air are too much. In some scenes I was joking and then we laughed, in others I was serious…but, you know, it’s not easy living together with strangers who are completely different from you. I challenge all those who criticized me to do it. Sure that their mates or relatives will be always calm and quiet? Then, all say to practice honesty but it was my frankness to be inadequate.

Last question. Fashion world could be cruel, as Eva (Herzigova) says: today you are IN, tomorrow you’ll be OUT. Moreover, there are a lot false friends and opportunities. What’s your advice for who wants to be part of this universe?
I suggest everyone to never stop learning and “studying”, to not give up, not only in fashion. If you have a dream you have to go on, without stopping. There will be many obstacles, but if you seriously believe it, soon or later your dream will become reality. I’m telling you this, even if I’m not a dreamer…maybe it’s really true =)
