Rètro: 40's linearity

Gli anni 40 sono senza dubbio il periodo storico il cui revival è più in voga in questo momento, basta dare un'occhiata alle ultime collezioni autunno/inverno per rendersene immediatamente conto: le linee sono dritte e pulite, con pochi eccessi e look molto sobri. Sono gli anni della seconda guerra mondiale, anni di grandi cambiamenti in cui il settore della moda vive una vera rivoluzione.Gli anni 40’ vengono contraddistinti da una moda semplice: forme lineari, pochi eccessi,  praticità e tessuti poco elaborati. Sono gli anni di Salvatore Ferragamo in Italia, Christian Dior in Francia, e gli anni dell'esordio delle Pin-Up negli Stati Uniti.Subito dopo la grande guerra, però si stravolge ancora una volta il mondo della moda: le forme lineari e dritte restano, ma, al contempo si diffondono gli abiti dalle gonne ampie, i manicotti, i dettagli pregiati e la celebrazione della femminilità nei tagli sartoriali, che diventano sinuosi, attenuando quella rigidità che caratterizzava invece, il periodo precedente. Ed è a questo periodo degli anni 40 che è dedicato l'editoriale che ho scelto oggi (tra l'altro realizzato proprio in quegli anni dal bravissimo Cecil Beaton), un momento di rinascita che celebra nuovamente i colori ed i dettagli, un mood molto più allegro e decisamente più adatto alla primavera! :)
40's are, without doubt, the historical period whose revival is more trendy right now, if you just take a look at the latest autumn/winter collections tyou can see it immediately: lines are straight and clean, with few excesses and looks are very sober. These are the years of the second world war, and in the fashion industry were years of true revolution. 40 's are distinguished by a simple fashion: linear forms, few excesses, practicality and little elaborated fabrics. These are the years of Salvatore Ferragamo in Italy, and Christian Dior in France and the years of  Pin-ups in the United States. Soon after the great war, however, the fashion world changes once again : linear and straight forms remain, but, at the same time spreaded large dresses skirts, sleeves, fine details and the celebration of femininity in tailoring, which become sinuous, softening that rigidity that characterized the previous period. And iis at this period of 40's which is dedicated the editorial I've chosen today (created by the excellent Cecil Beaton), a moment of rebirth that celebrates the colors and details, a much more cheerful mood definitely more suitable for spring! :)
