Steinlager Rugby Awards: il player of the year è Richie McCaw

Oggi era la giornata degli Steinlager Rugby Awards in Nuova Zelanda; il premio Kel Tremain Memorial Player of Year per il miglior giocatore dell'anno è andato a Richie McCaw che ha battuto la concorrenza di Kieran Read e Conrad Smith; di fatto non è una gran sorpresa l'unica curiosità è che Dan Carter, IRB player of the year 2012 non era neanche tra i nominati.
L'allenatore dell'anno invece è Steve Hansen e anche qui i dubbi erano pochi.
Riassumiamo in breve i vincitori:
- Richie McCaw è Kel Tremain Memorial Player of Year;
- Steve Hansen è Coach of the Year;
- All Blacks sono Team of the Year;
- Conrad Smith si aggiudica lo Investec Super Rugby Player of Year;
- Robbie Fruean di Canterbury è ITM Cup Player of Year;
 - il nazionale Under 20 e giocatore Turbos Jason Emery è Age Grade Player of Year;
- Liam Messam è meritatamente Maori Player of year;
- Tomasi Cama è Sevens Player of Year;
- Rawinia Everitt è Women's Player of Year;
- Glenn Jackson si aggiudica il Referee of Year Award;
- Ray Watson è Charles Monro Rugby Volunteer of the Year;
- Peter Rowe è Heartland Player of the Year.
