Style bits: today we talk about STARS!

Questo mese io e Laura siamo alle prese con un trend che non ci convince per nulla e pare essere tutta colpa di Dolce&Gabbana!
This month, me and Laura are dealing with a trend that doesn't drive us nuts at all, and whose only responsibles are Dolce&Gabbana!

Che cosa hanno in comune Kim Kardashian, Anne Hathaway, Fergie, Britney e Lily Allen? Recentemente tutte hanno sfoggiato vestitini a stelline che neanche nei momenti più bui degli anni '90.E come vi avevamo anticipato la colpa è tutta di Dolce & Gabbana!

What have in common Kim Kardashian, Anne Hataway, Fergie, Britney Spears and Lily Allen? All of them sported dresses and garments covered in stars: a sad flashback to the 90s. And as we wrote before, we can only blame Dolce&Gabbana!

Ebbene sì, la collezione invernale di Stefano & Domenico tutta incentrata sulle stelle (stelle stampate a milioni su abiti leggeri dai mille veli, abiti stretch con grandi stelle a contrasto, pochette e scarpe con stelle in pelle e stelle glitterate persino sui risvolti dei blazer!) pare aver incontrato grande riscontro tra celebrità, blogger e, praticamente chiunque.
Oh yes, the D&G winter collection, that is built around stars (trillions of stars on flowy dresses, on stretch dresses, on leather shoes and clutches... and lots of glitter stars on the lapels of blazers!), did meet with stars and bloggers' success. But not ours! This trend left the both of us very confused and puzzled.
Peccato che a noi questo trend convinca proprio poco.Tutte queste stelle ci fanno tornare con la mente agli anni '90 e alle canottierine estive che indossavamo alle elementari, quelle con le spalline sottile e, soprattutto, miriadi di stelline.
So many stars everywhere, and our minds travel back in time to the glorious 90s, when at primary school we were always wearing tank tops covered in stars (or hearts). Nowadays, maybe we wouldn't easily wear a starry pajama, imagine a dress!
Un motivo piuttosto scontato nella versione proposta da D&G che acquista già un altro 'valore' nella collezione Miu Miu.Miuccia crea cerchietti e portafogli con stelle che assomigliano più alle vignette dei fumetti anni '60 (quelli con scritto KAPOWW! tanto amate da Lichtenstein per intenderci) che a stelle vere e proprie e il risultato, seppur non particolarmente interessante, batte di gran quello di D&G.
If D&G used the classical five-pointed star (boring, uh?), Miu Miu works on some variations on the subject.Miuccia created headbands and purses with huge stars that look more like those comics balloons typical of the 60s (with KAPOWW! written on the inside maybe?!) than proper stars, and the result is way more interesting than what Stefano & Domenico achieved.

Se non siete d'accordo con le nostre opinioni e non disprezzate questo trend sarete felici di sapere che su Asos ci hanno un po' preso la mano e hanno proposto la stampa stellata per abiti, tutine, pantaloni e gonne declinati in ogni tessuto e colore immaginabili, contente?Noi mica tanto, l'unica consolazione è che come tutte le altre mode passerà in fretta e tornerà nell'anta buia dove speriamo rimanga almeno altri vent'anni.
