Yesterday morning I was doing the umpteenth wishlist listing a lot of shoes, dresses, purses, accessories I couldn’t live without.All things considered, the total price would have been the same of a world travel (with all the comforts included).I’ve always been a fan of vintage, second-hand and homemade items, as I am against (with effort, of course) excessive expenses for the wardrobe so I’ve decided to finally create my personal list of the ten rules to be cheap and chic (like Moschino says) wich could save me from discouragement moments when I say to me “I wish, but I can’t”.I hope they’ll be useful also for you, to save you and your wallets, wich are cleaned out without sense too often, let me say that.//Mi sono ritrovata ieri mattina a compilare l’ennesima wishlist dove elencavo con foga modelli di scarpe, abiti, borse, accessori che mi sembrava non potessero mancare nel mio guardaroba.A conti fatti se avessi acquistato tutto quello che c’era scritto avrei speso l’equivalente di un viaggio intorno al mondo (con tutti i comfort).Essendo sempre stata una fan del vintage, del second-hand e delle cose fatte in casa e contraria (seppur con fatica) alle spese eccessive per il guardaroba, mi sono decisa a creare una mia personale lista delle dieci regole per essere cheap and chic (per dirla col Signor Moschino) che mi potesse salvare nei momenti di sconforto da “vorrei, ma non posso”.Spero possano essere utili a salvare anche voi e i vostri portafogli, troppo spesso svuotati e martoriati con poco giudizio, lasciatemelo dire.
1_Choose vintage and second-hand items, but be sure of their quality//Preferisci capi vintage e second-hand, ma assicurandoti sempre del loro valore2_Buy a sewing machine and learn how to create your own clothes//Investi in una macchina da cucire e impara a confezionarti gli abiti da sola3_Pay attention to low cost items, they often are “disposable” and bad quality//Stai attenta ai capi delle catene low cost, spesso pressoché “usa e getta” e di scarsa qualità4_If you want a designer purse, choose a vintage one: it’s cheaper and less popular//Se vuoi una borsa griffata, scegline un modello vintage: decisamente più cheap e meno inflazionato5_Choose five basic items and create your look around them, like they would be a white canvas//Scegli cinque capi base e crea il tuo look attorno a loro, usandoli come fossero una tela bianca6_Create jewels with old buttons, fabric remnants, beads and pins and all that you find and like (a tutorial about that is coming soon on the blog)//Crea bijoux con vecchi bottoni, scarti di stoffa, perline, spille e tutti quei materiali di scarto che ti sembrano interessanti e riutilizzabili (presto un tutorial qui sul blog)7_If you buy an expensive item, let it be (more or less) forever//Se cedi ad un capo costoso, fa che sia più o meno per sempre8_Buy only versatile items//Compra solo capi versatili e facilmente abbinabili9_Before going to shop, make a list of what you really need to make your outfits more complete//Prima di uscire a fare shopping, fai una lista ben ponderata di tutto quello che ti serve, pensando di cosa sentono la mancanza i tuoi outfit e il tuo guardaroba 10_Take note of your expenses in clothes and accessories and make a balance to take crazy expenses under control//Segnati sempre le spese che vanno in abiti, scarpe, gioielli e fai un bilancio per tenere sotto controllo le spese folli
