L'occasione per sognare ad occhi aperti me l'ha fornita il blog di Alix, meglio conosciuta come The Cherry Blossom Girl, che in questo periodo ha pubblicato sul suo blog le foto del suo meraviglioso matrimonio. Aldilà dei soliti luoghi comuni e lungi dal fornire una giusta motivazione psicologica, credo che ogni ragazza prima o poi immagina il suo giorno perfetto e in molte associano quel giorno alle proprie nozze. Sin da piccole siamo state abituate a sognare ad occhi aperti, abbiamo trascorso l'infanzia tra fiabe, caramelle e lieto fine e anche se spesso possiamo risultare ciniche e risolute, ancora tiriamo su col naso davanti ad bacio mozzafiato e sogniamo il nostro principe azzurro; d'accordo, magari non arriverà mai su un cavallo bianco, ma ci auguriamo almeno che ci corra incontro con un bel mazzo di fiori!
The opportunity for daydreaming has given to me from Alix's blog, better known as The Cherry Blossom Girl, which in this period published the picture of her wonderful marriage. Beyond the usual cliches and far from providing a proper psychological motivation, i think sooner or later every girl imagines her perfect day and many associate that day to their wedding. Since we were child we used to daydreaming, we spend our childhood between fairytales, candies and happy ending and even if we can be cynical and often decisive, we pull on our nose in front of a breathless kiss and we dream our blue prince; ok, maybe he will never arrive on a white horse, but at least we hope we race meeting with a beautiful bouquet of flowers!

Qualche tempo fa una mia cara amica mi ha chiesto se avessi mai pensato al giorno del mio matrimonio. Quella domanda a bruciapelo ricordo che mi ha spiazzato: credo di essere ancora molto giovane e ho sicuramente tanti step importanti da superare prima del grande passo, e in ogni caso non sono abituata a fare progetti di questo tipo; quelle poche volte che ho pensato in grande su alcuni avvenimenti, vi assicuro che è stata una vera catastrofe. Ho imparato quindi ad aspettare, ad essere paziente, ad allontanare dalla mente pensieri che riguardano il futuro, a maggior ragione quello ancora troppo lontano, lasciando solo tutta la dolcezza dell'attesa e la speranza di qualcosa di bello, proprio come quando hai davanti a te un enorme pacco col fiocco e non vedi l'ora di scartarlo.
Some time ago one a dear friend asked me if I never had thought about my wedding day. I remember that point- blank question displaced: i think that I'm still very young and I doubt many important steps to overcome the big step, and in any case I'm not used to doing projects of this type; the few times that I thought on some great events, I assure you that it was a disaster. So I learned to wait, be patient, to remove from my mind
thoughts about the future, more so than still too far away, leaving only the sweetness of expectation and the hope for something good, like when you're ahead you a huge gift box with a bow and you can't wait to unwrap.
Guardando queste foto però non si può fare a meno di sospirare, complice l'eccezionale bravura della fotografa, in questo caso Marianne Taylor, una vera artista nel suo campo, come pochi davvero. Non ho mai avuto le idee chiare sul mio matrimonio, nè le ho mai espresse ad alta voce per farmi bella agli occhi degli altri, ma la dolcezza di questi scatti che ho selezionato per voi parlano chiaro sui miei gusti e su ciò che vorrei trasparisse da un evento importante come quello delle nozze: semplicità, raffinatezza, gioia di vivere, e tutta l'attenzione per i piccoli particolari.

I never had clear ideas about my wedding day, neither I've never expressed them aloud, but the sweetness of these shots I selected for you are clear about my tastes and what I would like to show from an important event like wedding: semplicity, elegance, joie de vivre and all the attention to small details.
La giusta location, i preparativi nella casa della sposa, l'abito, non importa se bianco o beige, cipria o colorato, purchè perfetto; le scarpe, il trucco, gli accessori, gli abiti delle damigelle, le foto rubate, i sorrisi, l'attesa, l'emozione, l'amore.
The perfect location, preparing in bride's house, the dress, whether white or beige, powder or colored,  provide perfect; shoes, make-up, accessories, bridesmaids's dresses, stolen pictures, smiles, wait, emotion, love.Ho sempre adorato le vecchie chiese di campagna e i piccoli castelli abbandonati e anche se so che il mio matrimonio non sarà mai così, mi piace riguardare queste bellissime foto e abbandonarmi alla dolcezza dell'atmosfera; una cerimonia intima, gli invitati ben vestiti e lo scambio delle promesse, quel "sì lo voglio" che in qualche modo ti cambia la vita.
I've always loved the old country churches and small abandoned castles and even I know my wedding  will  never be like this, I like see these beautiful picture and forsake the sweetness of the atmosphere; an intimate ceremony, the guests well-dressed and the promises's exchange, that "Yes, i do" that somehow changes your life.Il segreto è tutto nei particolari, la parola d'ordine, buon gusto. Se questi presupposti ci sono, chi lo dice che non si possa gustare anche un calice di birra in allegria prima del rinfresco? Ho adorato l'immagine dello sposo che beve birra e ho sorriso perchè conosco qualcuno che sarebbe disposto a farlo. Bellissima anche l'idea di trasformare un vecchio capanno abbandonato in una location magica, piena di palloncini dalle tonalità pastello, caramelle, fiori e cupcakes. La musica di sottofondo, qualche lento per sgranchirsi le gambe e tutte le attenzioni rivolte agli ospiti, selezionati, solo quelli che hanno davvero condiviso attimi preziosi e momenti speciali con gli sposi.
The secrets is all in the details, password: good taste. If they are these assumptions, who says you can't also enjoy a glass of beer in joy before the buffet? I loved the picture of husband who drinks beer and I smiled because I know someone would be willing to do it. Beautiful the idea of convrting an old abandoned shack in a magical location, full of pastel balloons, candies, flowers and cupcakes. Music, some slow dances to stretch their legs and all the attentions given to guests, selected, only those who really shared precious  and special moments with the bride and husband. E che dire della torta nuziale-macarons? Benissimo anche qualcosa di più sobrio, purchè particolare, senza trascendere nel cattivo gusto. L'atmosfera è qualcosa che si crea naturalmente, una magia impercettibile, fatta di piccole cose e la giusta gente. E quando i riflettori si spengono e la festa finisce, resta un bellissimo ed emozionante ricordo e un cammino a due, appena iniziato. Tenendosi per mano.
And what about the wedding cake-macarons? Well something more sober, provided particular,  without transcending in bad taste. The atmosphere is something that naturally creates,  a subtle magic, made of  little  things and right people. And when the lights go down and the party ends, it remains a  wonderful and exciting memories and duo journey. Holding hands.
