Three Polo Shirts = One Raglan Dress!

If you follow me from a while, you easily know that I'm in love with raglan sleeves: I think that helps to make shoulders look better (like in my asymmetrical cardi). 
For this reason some time ago I shared a raglan sleeved shirt pattern, to be used to sew Shirts With Skirts. I decided to sew one more raglan piece, refashioning three different polo shirts to achieve a colorblocked style in this new dress:

As you can see this time I decided to complicate things just a little bit more then on my latest Polo to dress: I added a lateral band as I did with the fuchsia tank I've sewn for summer KCW, simply cutting a slice from my front and back pattern and taping together at side seams. 

Then I cut sides from one shirt front and back from one different buttoned shirt (keeping original hems) and raglan sleeves using the cuffs from one more polo (this time was a long sleeve one). 



Sewn all together and finished the neckline making a "bias" (not really cut on bias, due to the elastic nature of the fabric I used!) from the darker shirt (the one used for the sides), ending into a slim tie that LilPotato loves to knot on her back but I originally designed to form a bow in front...



What do you think of this one? My daughter loves it because it's fresh and easy to wear



 She can dance on it also if it's not a twirly-frilly dress




Then she sits down "like a princess" to show her back knot tie!

Se mi segui da un po', sicuramente sai che mi piacciono le maniche raglan: credo che contribuiscano a dare alle spalle un bell'aspetto (come nel mio cardigan asimmetrico).
Per questo motivo, qualche tempo fa ho condiviso un cartamodello di maglietta a maniche raglan, per cucire delle simpatiche magliette con la gonnellina. Ho deciso di cucire un altro pezzo col dettaglio raglan, combinando ben tre polo per ottenere uno stile a blocchi di colore in questo nuovo vestito:

Come vedi questa volta ho deciso di complicare le cose giusto un po' di più del mio ultimo refashion da Polo a vestito: ho aggiunto una banda laterale (come nella canotta fucsia che ho cucito per la KCW d'estate), semplicemente tagliando una striscia del davanti e del dietro del cartamodello e unendoli lungo la cucitura laterale, per ottenere un nuovo cartamodello.

Poi ho tagliato i lati da una camicia, il davanti e il dietro da una camicia abbottonata davanti (mantenendo orli originali) e le maniche raglan con polsini da un altra polo (questa era a maniche lunghe).

Ho assemblato il tutto e rifinito lo scollo con uno sbieco (non realmente tagliatoin sbieco, visto che la maglina è elastica!) ottenuto dalla camicia scura (quella utilizzata per i lati), che termina in una sciarpina sottile che LaPatata ama annodatra sulla schiena, ma io originariamente la vedevo più legata in un fiocco davanti...

Cosate ne pare di questo vestitino? Mia figlia lo adora perché è fresco e facile da indossare

E lo usa per ballare anche se non è il solito vestito svolazzante e molto femminile...

Poi si siede "come una principessa" per mostrare la sua sciarpina annodata dietro!
