Innanzitutto abbiamo chiesto come è nata la serie, e Giacomo ci ha rivelato che lo spunto è venuto dalla lettura delle "avventure" della giunta di Parma da una parte, e dal fatto che nessuno l'avesse mai fatto dall'altra. Il Movimento 5 Stelle è un soggetto nuovo a livello satirico, ed è un unicum in quanto fare satira su un comico è straordinariamente difficile. [video]
Abbiamo chiesto a Giacomo che cosa è per lui la satira, alla luce dei commenti ricevuti dai suoi video: a suo avviso la satira è stravolgere le carte, rivoltare una storia per raccontarla in un modo diverso, dando un altro punto di vista. E' impossibile tuttavia stabilire cosa faccia ridere oppure no, e il motivo per cui una persona ride per una particolare battuta oppure no. [video]
Giacomo ha raccontato anche come costruisce le storie per i suoi video: la più grande fonte di ispirazione sono le chiacchierate, conversazioni in cui nascono e si sviluppano le idee per l'impalcatura degli sketch. In seguito le parti vengono registrate separatamente e quindi montate. [video]
Uno degli esempi di satira più apprezzata da Giacomo è quella di Corrado Guzzanti, l'unico che riesce a trovare le chiavi di lettura più assurde, ma che allo stesso tempo sembra stanco: il nostro è un paese in cui oramai non si capisce più chi prende in giro chi, dato che persino il modo di parlare dei politici e di chi fa satira si sta uniformando. [video]Abbiamo chiesto a Giacomo che cosa ne pensa dell'insofferenza dei grillini nei confronti di chi fa satira sul Movimento 5 Stelle e su Grillo. La satira si può fare su chiunque, solo che secondo Giacomo farlo su di loro è più complicato semplicemente perché la rete è "la loro terra". Non sono abituati, e il risultato è una critica feroce nei confronti di chiunque vi si cimenti. [video]
Un'altra domanda riguarda il modo in cui i social media hanno alterato il modo di fare e fruire la satira: a suo avviso ora ci sono "più satire", più di nicchia, e più spazio per tutti. Una varietà che permette di vedere una comicità che altrimenti sarebbe impossibile vedere in televisione. [video]
Infine abbiamo chiesto a Giacomo come evolverà la satira in futuro: il problema, a suo avviso, è monetizzare quello che uno fa. Grazie a YouTube abbiamo assistito a un grande cambiamento in termini di entertainment mainstream, ma finché non si trova un modo per finanziare questo tipo di realtà, sarà difficile creare qualcosa di veramente solido. Un video diventa difficilmente virale solo grazie al passaparola, ed è comunque necessario finire su Corriere o Repubblica per venire notati, anche per una certa reticenza degli utenti a condividere i contenuti che non li trovano concordi a livello politico. Purtroppo la satira in Italia è di squadra: non si ride di tutti, si ride solo da una parte.

A few days ago we had the pleasure of interviewing Giacomo Cannelli, satirical author and creator of the video series about Federico Pizzarotti for Valigia Blu.
First of all we asked how the series was born, and Giacomo told us that the idea came from reading about the "adventures" of the Parma council on the one side, and from the fact that nobody had ever done anything like it before on the other. The Movimento 5 Stelle is a new subject from a satirical point of view, and it is quite unique because making fun of a comedian is an incredibly difficult task. [video]
We asked Giacomo what satire is for him, in the light of the comments that his videos received: he believes that satire is turning cards upside down, twisting a story to tell it in a different way and giving a new point of view on it. It is impossible, though, to establish what makes people laugh and what doesn't, and the reason why someone laughs at one particular joke or not. [video]
Giacomo has also told us how he builds the stories for his videos: the biggest source of inspiration are talks, conversations in which ideas are born and developed. The different characters are then recorded separately and then merged together. [video]
One of the examples of satire that Giacomo loves the most is that of Corrado Guzzanti, the only one that manages to find the most absurd reading keys, but that at the same time seems tired: ours is a country in which we can't understand who's making fun of whom, since even the way politicians and their imitators talk is becoming uniformed. We asked Giacomo what he thinks about the aggressivness of Grillo followers towards those who do satire about the Movimento 5 Stelle. Satire can be done about anyone, but Giacomo believes that doing it about them is more difficult because the web is "their land". They're not used to it, and the result is a ferocious criticism towards anyone who does satire about them. [video]
Another question was about the way social media have altered the way of doing and enjoying satire: he believes that now there are several satires, more "customized", and more space for everybody. A variety that allows us to see a comicity that would have otherwise been impossible to see in television.[video]
Finally we asked Giacomo how satire will evolve in the future: the biggest problem in his opinion is monetizing this kind of activity. Thanks to YouTube we've seen a great change in terms of mainstream entertainment, but until we find a way to finance this kind of reality, it will be difficult to build something solid. A video rarely becomes viral only thanks to word-of-mouth, you have to end up on Corriere or on Repubblica to get noticed, also because of a certain unwillingness of users to share content they don't agree on at a political level.[video]
Unfortunately satire in Italy is team divided: you don't laugh of everyone, you only laugh of one side.
